Unfortunetly King Edward and Pendragon have not been getting on so well and on Sunday I decided it was time to separate them, 3 weeks and 3 days after they were introduced.
The first week they were together things seemed to go ok but with a little tension, then during the second week Pendragon took to sometimes chasing King Edward round the cage at full speed, like he was trying to chase him away (as opposed to simply pursuing him trying to mount him). I hoped it was something they could work through as it was still within the 2 week bonding time frame and it did seem to stop but Pendragon continued to show other bullying type behaviours, namely often lying outside one entrance to the house King Edward was in, while staring at the other entrance, then if King Edward came out he would either put his head over the top of KE and pull his ears or push his nose into his fur and give him a poke.
Either way KE would retreat and Pendragon would do a little popcorn

. He has never injured him or stopped him eating his veggies and doesn't always guard the house KE is in but doesn't like it if he starts to wonder about the cage. KE has been looking sad, being confined and unable to express himself, then yesterday Pendragon was chasing him round and round again and I decided enough was enough.
I think Pendragon has felt a little insecure in his top pig role, he was the under pig in his previous pairing, while KE was top pig in both of his. KE is seven now, if he was younger I think he would have been top pig again and Pendragon knows this.
Anyway, I am back to three single boars. In the next day or two I will see if King Edward would like to live with Pascal (who also lost his brother not long ago). If that works out I will just need to find a new friend for Pendragon.
