My lovely boy King Edward sadly lost his brother recently, who had to be pts due to a mass at the back of his tongue😭 They had a very close bond but he seems to be coping well with the loss and is enjoying more human interaction, coming up for chin rubs and head rubs in a way he didn't before.
Obviously tho the best thing is for him to have a new piggy buddy so I have been on the look out. As luck would have it @Wheekallweek posted on here about old boy Star (sorry I don't know how to link to the thread) looking for a new home after arriving in rescue. It seems like the perfect match, they are both laid back older piggies in need of companionship🥰.
Today I collected Star🌠. He is a very chilled piggy and very handsome. I am leaving him for today to settle into his new surroundings and will go ahead with the bonding tomorrow, so for now he is in a 120 cage in the sitting room. I have a good feeling about it and really hope things go well but I guess you never know so please keep your fingers crossed for a happy bromance for these very lovely lads.

The bonding is about 10 minutes in. I took a little video of the beginning. So far so good. No teeth chattering, minimal rumble strutting. Mostly King Edward is keen to mount Star and Star is keen to scent mark K Edward. Has been some bum sniffing, scent marking, sniffing each others scent marks and following each other around while chut chutting, hay eating and a possible half popcorn from Star. Just added in a little bit of grass which they are both enjoying

I agree; sounds like he is starting to taking control now that acceptance has happened.
 
Looks like a bonding success since everything has been very much in the milder range. If they are still happy to share the space when they wake up again, then you'll know for sure.

They woke up 10 minutes later and both seem happy. I've seen them both popcorn and sometimes Star can't contain himself and makes the excitable boar oiking noise which means K.E has to rumble at him and shoulder mount him, then Star does the leave me alone/you're in my space whining noise and they settle back down to munching hay. So it seems they have accepted each other and are settling into their roles nicely 🤞
