Advice On Dental Issues?

What is the advantage of standing them up? I'll ask about doing this instead of with the anesthetic but I'm not sure how he'll felt about it. I'm so nervous about using it again, she's had it 3 times in 4 months and she does not respond well to the anesthetic which makes her stop eating which causes more teeth issues, it's just not possible to keep putting her through that.

The mouth is very fleshy and by having them in a normal position you can get a far better result as everything is where it normally is when they're eating. This is also a good reason for doing conscious dentals as when asleep they're all floppy.

Thanks you've been so helpful. As he's done conscious dentals before so I'm hoping he'll consider this. My only worry is that if Toast was wriggling or trying to move her head, how safe would that be

My Fuzzy is a nightmare, will not stay still for anyone (she lasts about 5 seconds on my lap) but I am sure Simon checked her teeth when she saw him. Turned out she needed her spay but I think he checked her teeth too.

I've just had to take Toast to the vets again. This morning I noticed she was a bit bloaty, nothing too bad though, so I gave her cisapride. She was eating okay. Tonight when I got home from work she seemed all hunched up, fur standing up. She sniffed at some pellets in my hand, but dropped them when trying to pick them. She only took a tiny bit of syringe feed and he wasn't interested in water or hay.

She was given an injection of Loxicom (it bled a little and she screamed).
I'll just continue with the cisapride and syringe feeding tonight and if she's not wanting to eat by herself tomorrow take her back.

I'm at a complete loss as to what's best for Toast. She gets stressed beyond belief at the vets and I've had to take her a lot the past few months, she's had constant cystitis from the stress. She also seems to have lost trust in me, she no longer comes up to me when she hears my voice and she's very jittery around me now. We've always have a very close bond and I'm devastated she doesn't seem to trust me anymore.

It's 95g loss in a week though... is that not a lot?

I am a massive worrier.. x

I hope she gets better! My guinea pig isn't eating and I need to take her to a rodentologist asap to look st her teeth as my previous vet they look fine but I know she has a throat issue. I'm based in Isleworth. Can anyone help me please? I'm syringe feeding thanks Sandra
