Hello! Fluff, 5.7yo boar, had a 5.6mm bladder stone removed 05/09/25. They said his bladder wall was damaged and quite a mess. Post op was on cisapride, enrocare, meloxaid, fibreplex and seemed to be doing well.

Over the last week we’ve had a return of rust coloured pee and searching and squeaking when passing tiny amounts of urine. We’ve been vet checked twice. He’s on meloxaid dog 0.3ml twice a day, calpol 0,4ml twice a day, enrocare daily and fibreplex daily. I’ve started on cysteaze yesterday (thanks to this forum). Vets want a urine sample but he’s pee is so tiny I can barely get anything in a syringe - we tried but it wasn’t enough to test. Vets won’t do anything different until they have the sample and I’m at a total loss other than suggesting gabapentin for extra pain management.

I’ve read about other things on here (thank you all) and have messaged the vets this morning to suggest cartrophen as an option.

What are your thoughts? How can I get this sample? He’s so wet I’m wiping him and drying him as much as I can to keep him clean. Poor little dude.

I'm sorry to hear about Fluff and I don't have any helpful advice I'm afraid, but until somebody else does, give either/both of these bladder healing frequencies a try, there is nothing to lose and it could help! 🤞 🙏 🙏

Be consistent and play on loop for a good while to give them time to work!

Hiya. He’s a much happier piggie thank goodness. He’s moving more, eating more. He’s off antibiotics as his urine is clear of bacteria so it’s just the after effects we’re treating. He’s had an issue with his boy bits and they’re quite swollen and won’t retract so I now have the joys of Vaseline to help him. Piggie mothering is not glamorous.

Wow how big was that? Julien Chewie has just had an x-ray today showing a bladder stone but we need to get his weight back up before they’ll operate. Prescription for gabapentin and urinary capsules to add to the metacam and co-trimoxazole (antibiotic)

Hi, his stone he had surgically removed was 5.6mm. This one is about 1.5mm. He’s has 2 in the space of a month but never had one for over 5&1/2 years. It’s kind of insane. Good luck for your surgery! I hope it goes well. We fed critical care a lot before and after his surgery to keep him going. X

Thank you. He’s not quite 4 ( as far as we know from the rescue) so glad to hear that Fluff is recovering as an older boar and wishing you all the best.

Hi everyone, Fluff went over rainbow bridge on Monday after a rapid deterioration on Sunday. It was his time, he was a little warrior until the end. He’s left a gaping hole in our hearts. Thank you all for the advice and well wishes. This community is amazing.

I’m so sorry Fluff has left for the rainbow bridge. Sending you hugs.
