Blathers

Anxiously staring at my phone this morning. They are going to keep me updated through the whole process! Blathers has happily accepted a small chunk of carrot from the foster momma this morning and did great over there last night. Here soon this morning Blathers will meet Freddy. I’ll keep everyone updated here as well!
 
Well Blathers and Freddy did not like each other almost right off the back. They’ve been separated and no one is hurt. Tomorrow Blathers will meet baby boar and hopefully they will hit it off!
 
Foster mom has said that anytime the other pigs talk Blathers is out wheeking away at them! 😂 Blathers has met baby boar nearby in their own cages since they decided to move baby’s cage away from Freddy because Fred doesn’t care for his baby shenanigans.
 
Well Blathers and baby boar are in the bonding pen early this morning. It’s been about 30 minute and foster mom has said it is going great! Lots of bum sniffing and talking, some humping (ugh boys :roll:) from both of them, and even one mutual side by side grooming session already!
 
Just under 2 hours in and the boys have settled in for their first snooze together. They chose to snuggle up together in a fleece forest. Big fingers crossed that they wake up happily together as I know waking up after the first nap is a big step for boars! 🤞
 
The boys have awoken from their first snooze, a short pig nap together. They woke up and moved over to munching on the hay pile side by side. Some more bum sniffing and baby boar has accepted Blathers mounting. :yahoo:
We’re right under 3 hours together and foster mom has said it is going terrifically!

I didn’t want to think of a name until I knew if they sparked a bromance! But it appears they are hitting it off swimmingly so I might have to start thinking!
 
They boys have had many naps together! They are mutually following each other around and happily munching hay. The introduction was a wonderful success! It appears we will be bringing home Blathers and baby boy tomorrow! We are so excited! I’ll post pictures tomorrow!
 
This is excellent news! Baby boy is so very precious too. I'm excited to see the name that you'll choose for him, and of course I'm excited to see pictures, too! 💖 Good on you for finding him a friend so quickly -- I'm sure Blathers and his new friend will have many happy years together!
 
Blathers and baby transferred to a cleaned out cage for the night super well! They explored the new area together and are now sleeping in a makeshift box hidey together! Baby boar follows Blathers everywhere and Blathers seems to enjoy it for the most part but has rumbled at him a few times for being up his butt constantly. Tomorrow afternoon we will pick up Blathers and baby! :yahoo: :luv: I am so delighted that my boy found a friend he wants to bring home with him! Hopefully they will have many long years together!

We also believe we have a name for baby 😉

We were so excited too! It’s such a bummer but the foster mom is taking great care of them.
I want to meet baby first to see if the name suits him before telling you guys!:shh:
 
It’s super late here. It is safe to say we are all exhausted. But I would like to introduce everyone to Blathers and Horizon! :yahoo: :wub: We are so delighted our boy has picked a friend! Horizon is the sweetest little nugget and we can’t wait to watch him grow. I sent away a pig who was just coming out of his shell and got back a confident talking boy!

Here is their setup! We are going to have to rearrange the living room and I want to order tables to put them on in the near future but it is fine for now. The cages are a little barren because everything I bought has one entrance and I don’t have anymore boxes. :doh: Included in the background is Blathers cage that he came home in from his previous home. We are loving the new space upgrade. These last few weeks have been a crazy ride but we are so excited to have our boys! I would do every step of it all over again.❤ I’ll get some better pictures of the boys together in the coming days.

If anyone is wondering the cages are the Amazon-Basics Indoor Outdoor Small Pet Habitat with Canvas Bottom cage. It is their version of the Midwest. It has the exact same measurements and it’s cheaper. I will post a comment in the commercial cages thread tomorrow. Also my rug is not dirty it is designed that way with different splotches of grey. I get asked that question a lot lol.
