Hi all!

Quick backstory - I rescued my 2yr old boar last year. He has been a lone guinea pig all his life as far as I'm aware - he lived with rabbits and judging by a small scar behind his nibbled ear, I don't think it was the best environment for him. He's really came into his own since he was rescued, being much more cuddly and reactive to me now. However I know a lone guinea pig isn't the best option.
A friend of a friend was asking around as he was urgently needing to rehome 2 nine-month-old boys due to his family's allergies.
How does this dynamic work? My boy is quite large, and the two are quite small, so I can imagine the hierarchy. What do you think?

It quite probably wouldn’t work. The boy young boys are in their teenage stage where hormones are all over the show. Even if they initially get along, the hormones spikes could cause a break up a little father down the line. I think boar trios have 90% fail rate? It is even possible you’d end up with three single boars instead of a pair and a single.
It can work, I think there are one or two people here with functioning boar threes, but you would have to be aware of and prepared for, all eventualities.
There are boar-bonding guides on here which you should take a look at too, but I’m afraid I can’t link to them!

Boar trios have a very high failure rate. It’s difficult to match characters that are mostly calm and not have two that want to be boss. The amount of space you’d also need is more than you expect. So I really wouldn’t suggest you try them. If you do decide to, be aware that the younger boys are in their teenage months as mentioned above. Trying the trio could lead to you having three boars in separate cages, or a fallout between the younger two. Teenage months are a hard time to bond boars.

Your lone boar would likely appreciate having the two youngsters living along side him but kept in separate cages ag all times, as he will be able to have interaction through the bars but actually bonding all of them together is unlikely to work, could result in fights and at worst, three single piggies. It is best to leave a bonded pair of boars as they are and don’t do anything to upset their relationship.
