Bonding a Boar and a Sow - Please Help.

Moses loves to rumble at Miriam.
It’s piggy love.
Eye licking is a kiss.
A boar & sow pair is a real joy and can be better than a soap opera.
Have fun with them and please feel free to post lots of pictures 🥰
Sorry for my late reply! Yes, Pickle is still doing his rumbling but they have started sharing from one food bowl even though I put 2 down - Pickle tends to dominate the salad bar lol 😂 They also sit together in one house 🐷❤️🐷 I feel like it’s a happy ending after all the heartache I went through, losing my 3 boys in such a tragic way last autumn. Here they are eating their nuggets from one bowl (there is another, just in case! 😍) 💕

They are very cute! Your long haired pig looks like my pheobe :) hope all is well x
Thank you, yes I have to keep trimming Nevaeh’s fur every couple of weeks. She doesn’t like me combing her back and rear end so I have to carefully trim in order to keep the knots at bay! She’s got an adorable fringe 🤎 It’s funny because their colouring is very similar except that Pickle has the short hair version! x💕

Glad they’re settling so happily together.
The rumbling will go on forever.
I like to scatter their food around the cage so they don’t have to share. This does not stop Miriam stealing Moses’ leaf though 😁

In the midst of all my health issues, it’s really been wonderful to see them together.. after bringing little Pickle home 5 weeks ago from the RSPCA (where he had been for 5 months 🥺), he finally has a home 🏡🩷🌸

Rumbling in the context of living with sows is a wooing display - he who has the most sonorous rumble and the stateliest strut is the most impressive boar. He is basically telling her how much he fancies her and what a strapping lad he is to be chosen by her. ;)

Get used to lots of rumbles and a stage in a 'husboar's' life where he kind of loses his vocabulary and everything that is not a food wheek comes out as a rumble. I always find this stage so very endearing, as it expresses their happy boarliness...

Thank you! They seem to be happy just to chill together too, which is very sweet 😍 It’s so funny how they pinch each other’s leaves! 😆❤️🥬

Thank you, that’s so adorable! I did wonder why Pickle was doing so much rumbling 🥰 I’m so happy they’re together. It’s been lovely to watch them get to know each other! 💞

It sounds like a love match, so just sit back and discover why so many of us are hooked on mixed pairs. It is a whole different world to keeping just boars or having just sows.

Please brace for some strong initial seasons with heavy use of testosterone laden pee. The shared excess of pheromones and hormones from both sides and the whole drama serves to cement their bond on the physical side as well. No piggy has ever come to any harm (although it may not sound like since it is very much a very vocal affair. But it is usually over by the following day when you can sometimes see them cuddling up and giving each other piggy kisses.

Oh wow, so much to look forward to! All those years I only had boars and I loved them all to bits but this is a whole new chapter. I miss all my boys so much, but have renewed joy in bringing Nevaeh and Pickle together 💞🥰
