S'mores and Pockets
Junior Guinea Pig
Hi, my heart breaks to say that S’mores passed away a week ago, Sunday. I knew his life was coming to an end, he battled a unidentified illness for almost a year and I am relieved he is in a better place now.
S’mores cagemate, Pockets is now alone. He is doing well still eating and drinking fine. I know most people are like “just get another one!” But there is so much more that goes on behind the scenes of being a piggie owner. My life is getting really busy and I am not ready to get another pig for a while. It’s hard to break the piggie cycle, but I know its the best thing for Pockets to be adopted by somebody who is willing to give him the best life.
I am wondering what I should do to list him for adoption/rehoming. I am in the US so there might not be some options that there are in the UK. I am not going to surrender him to a shelter, I would rather find a family that can directly take him. He does have arthritis and I am worried people will see that as a turn off. He is doing very well with daily doses of Metacam though.
Any advice for rehoming my piggie?
Thank you so much!
