He tilts his head when he drinks water and gets his chest all soak and wet. I remember someone else said their pig tilts his head also. Is this normal? Our Vet rechecked his teeth and they look good and he is eating just fine.

It's not normal as none of my pigs do it. But it's also not uncommon as there are people on the forum whose pigs do it.

Keep an eye out for problems eating as dribbling could be a sign of teeth issues.

TY and he just had t float surgery a little more than a week ago and he is eating and gaining weight.

Hammy tilts her head while she drinks as well. I think its normal. What's not normal is the water that goes onto his chest. You'll definitely want to consult a vet.

TY and we did consult a vet, exotics specialist. She had t float surgery a little over a week ago and a check up three days ago, and she looked good and is eating, gaining weight. Will call vet again monday morning and talk to her again and take eli in again.

Sometimes piggies tilt their head while drinking, mine do anyway. Cissy usually has a soggy chin from veg and sometimes water but as long as teeth are given the okay then you might just have a messy pig :))

My Mollie does this, too. Piggies in the wild drink don't from gravity dropper bottles so have to learn how to do this. Sometimes the height of the bottle spout can affect how they drink from the bottle. I have 2 different types of bottle at different heights but Mollie does twist her head and send water everywhere when she drinks.
