COVID-19 Coronavirus

Great idea I want to do the same but right now my head is all over the place

This is partly why this morning I sat and did a to do list. Lots of it is pretty basic, easy tick off stuff but I know if not I will get sucked further into the blackhole in my head. I figure that if have things to focus on my mind will be occupied. Take care.

I saw that some restrictions had been lifted in a province in China. Next sentence was that China had also reported 70odd new cases ☹ they give a tiny glimmer of positive and then launch on top the negative that eclipses that.

It's all still positives. The new cases in China were in the 100s a day. The idea of lockdown etc is not to stop the virus but to slow it down. Every medical professional knows it can't be stopped completely and if we lockdown and do stop it all we do is delay a peak in cases, it will re-emerge. The current situation is to try and help the health service manage the care for those that need it. That means not having too high a number of new cases everyday and helping more people to recover and develop an immunity to it

I am going to try and write a daily schedule for my self so that I can allocate specific activities to certain times of day so I have some structure and still get up at the same time etc. Stuff like piggy time, housework, gardening, exercse, contacting people, catching up with outstanding jobs that never get done, etc.

We've done reading eggs and maths seeds this morning, will be spending the rest of the day enjoying the sun in the garden and repotting/ planting more seeds, this is all educational and right now I think our family needs a down day, maths and English are done, no written work today but we can catch up on this, my main priority right now is keeping my family healthy both physically and emotionally, she won't forget in a day ❤️

For @Merab's Slave @Claire W and anyone else. I think the current advice is that lorry, bus and trailer MOTs have been suspended for 3 months. Car and motorbike MOTs still need to be done and garages can stay open, but obviously as they are private businesses each garage will be making its own decision about whether they are staying open or not. So if your usual garage is closed it will be a matter of looking for another reputable garage that is still open. However the guidelines for car and motorbike MOTs are under review with an announcement due in a few days, so there might be extensions for those aswell but currently that's not the case. Anyone who is currently self-isolating can delay your MOT so long as you don't use your vehicle in the meantime (which you shouldn't be anyway if you're self-isolating.)

Here in my state of India only emergency hospitals are open else every has been shut down. The grocery stores, pharmacies, vets, pet shops, dentist, everything just shut down for god knows how long
wait if the grocery stores are closed how do you get food? 😱 do you shop at the market? or is that closed too?

Na we can't shop everything is closed even the small hospitals😢 we are living on rice as we can't get vegetables and other stuff and we are taking extra precautions with our health so we don't get any injury or sickness because all hospitals except the one treating coronavirus are closed😢 the government said this would continue for a month

Here in the US, grocery stores are open for business. They don’t want people dying of hunger. Dealing with COVID-19 is more than enough.

Found a local garage who are open and sorting out my MOT and the 2 new tyres the car needs.
Very relieved as if I had to walk for work I’d end up breaking the exercise limit rules!

Kids from 3 different families are playing in my Square where I live. And 1parent is watching, knowing full well this is wrong. But they are ok, they claim benefits, have all day to stockpile and no worries about work.

That’s ridiculous 🙁 People are so bloody stupid!

We had a petrol leak under the car yesterday, the garage fixed it today but they have now closed. They said there was no point staying open because the spare parts places had had to close. If they did an MOT and the car needed a part they wouldn't be able to get it.

Oh for goodness sake! If we dont take heed of the new restrictions, tougher measures will be put in place and lockdown will be more difficult

Just spoke with my vet he sounded so sad and tired, has spent most of day working out logistics, etc and dealing with people on phone, not all of them pleasant. The good news is Gingerbread can have his monthly steroid injection and weight check and I will be taking him in on Thursday.

I really don't see what being a benefit claimant has to do with the stupidity of the action. Yes they are wrong for doing that and hopefully a passing police officer will point out to them and make them think twice

Seems like my neck of the woods isn't doing too bad at the understanding and following instructions. When I walked the dog on the park today there were clearly groups (didn't see more than 2 people in one group). 3-4 dog walking groups, a father and son having a bit of a kick about, new parents with a pram and a runner. All keeping much more than the required distance from each other so we can all get the exercise we need

I know them, they are the type that sponge off the tax payer and trash our street and house walls and drain pipes. I'm not labeling every benefit claimer. Just them. Sorry 👍

Has anyone else noticed how quiet it is? Spooky! I live just 2 miles out from Liverpool city centre... usually there's traffic all day from about 5am to midnight, buses and school run and commuter traffic past the bottom of the road, trains across the railway bridge at the top, noise from kids at the school 2 streets over, noise of people going to and from the pub in the evenings... seems everyone is taking it very seriously here, complete silence!

It feels like the everyone has died and we are the only humans left in our home hiding from a predator outside

Sending hugs @Ritika its a very scary time but the more people stay indoors like we're supposed to, the more chance it will pass quickly and we can appreciate the small things we take for granted better afterwards!

I just got the official UK government text message: "CORONA VIRUS ALERT New rules in force now: you must stay at home"

All completely mental! Only 10 days ago our uni told students it was business as usual, 2 days later they cancelled classes but said the campus was still open for staff and for students to use the library... yesterday everything is closed until September!

Om

Omg till September?!

We think unis and the schools in the UK will be closed until September now, luckily so far we still have grocery stores and pharmacies open, but not much else since the government announcement yesterday!
If we get to stage 3 of coronavirus here in India u can imagine there would be 1000000 deaths in our country...we don't have good medical facilities and very less hospitals as compared to the population of 1.3 billion people and we can never be prepared if the virus got to that stage there's only 1 hospital bed for every 80,000 people in our country so that's the reason everything including groceries medical stores and hospitals have shut down here to stop the people from going out but still people are gathering together to meet their friends😶😶

Not many people out today at all but I haven't left my garden though. Seen a couple of people walk their dog up the street and back but that is about it. Can tell it has been quiet as no one has moved their cars on the street! Talked to our neighbours, there was about 15metres between us.

I feel like understandably there is lots of anxiety and worry about. I don't even feel safe at home anymore in case I have something & it's not showing yet. I just want a hug off my mum & even though we are in the same house, we are avoiding each other to protect her ☹
