So I have been looking at making my own fleece liners for my boys as buying them is SO expensive! I have heard pros and cons to the Uhaul furniture pad route, something about them disintegrating in the wash. So I thought maybe Baxter pads for human incontinence might work? They are big absorbent sheets that take up a 2x2.5 C&C cage set up before adding fleece or anything else. I don't know how well they take to sewing on top of them, or cutting them to size, but it was an idea.

My boys have a 2x5 currently, but that is soon to expand with a new addition to the family. I plan on expanding with a 2x3 in an L shape, so I can divide it early on, if I have to separate them, at all.

I've heard of people sewing them in between 2,pieces of fleece and them working quite well ..i use uhaul pad myself ..

Dear Casey,
What fleece liners do you use and how do you wash them? Thank you.

The one I currently have is one My mother made for me. I usually get all the poos off of it, and then take it outside to rinse it off with a hose, although come winter, I may need a new plan for that. I then wash it in my machine.

I will let you guys know how it goes. I just bought a ton of fleece. :)

Casey,
I look forward to seeing how your fleece project goes. I think it is something to try since liners are so expensive! Good luck!

If you are US based you could also consider using zorb for the absorbent layer in your liners.
I have a couple of zorb liners and I love them.

I'm thinking of zorb for pee pads. Do you have to be careful how many you put in the washing machine? Adverts rave about how much liquid they can absorb, was just wondering if they soak up the washing water or are they not that bad
