Kylie can be a little monster - Vicky is often the poor (and very vocal) piggy Kylie likes to chase.
But Kylie is wonderful when it comes to taking meds, a real metacam junkie.
Today I put her into the box to get a urine sample. It didn't take five minutes for her to pee. It was either a huge coincidence or she has learned last time that a pee is all it takes to be put back.
There was still blood in her pee unfortunately, a bit less than last time.

Sorry to hear lovely Kylie has blood in her urine sample. I hope it clears up 🙏❤
 
Pino has stopped eating again two days ago and his wheezing is also back. So he shared Kylie's vet appointment today.
He was put on Baytril to see if it has any positive effect. The vet did a nasal swap again but it's not sure if the bacteria found in the swap are the ones also causing the problems in the lung.
He might need to go on Baytril for his lifetime (which wouldn't be too bad) or we might need to try an antibiotic that can only be adminstered by injection.
 
Kylie's ultrasound showed a stone in the bladder. So now we know the cause of her pain. The stone is so big that Kylie needs an operation. The wall of the bladder is also much thicker than it should be. So there could be more problems ahead even if the operation goes smoothly.

I'll have a talk with my usual vet on Monday. She is very experienced in operating guinea pigs and I hope we will find an appointment when I can assure the after-op-care around my work commitments

Kylie ... well,she is still eating and her behaviour hasn't changed much. But I'm gutted that she has to wait until next Friday for the operation because of my work commitments. It's really bad timing.
I hope that her quality of life will improve quickly once the operation and the first days after the operation are behind us.
