Hello! I was doing a health check on my piggies, and I found that Ruby broke her tooth! I’ve seen cases that piggies break their teeth & they grow back on their own. But Ruby almost broke her entire tooth :(. Her vet isn’t open today, & the soonest I can bring her in is probably Thursday. She’s eating and acting normal. What should I do in the meantime? Please ignore my finger nails haha.

If she is eating then that's great, is she eating hay? I noticed that broken tooth looks like it is growing inwards towards the other tooth. I'm not expert but if I remember correctly the good tooth should act as a guide for the broken one when it grows back to full length. See what your vet sais 👍 I'm mostly probably wrong

Poor Ruby
She does need to see a vet.
I can’t help but would suggest daily weighing to make sure she is eating enough and be prepared to syringe feed if needed

Poor girl, I would definitely get her to the vet when you can, in the meantime you might grate her veg to make it easier to eat, and step in with some syringe feeding in case she isnt managing her hay too well? Sorry I have no experience of broken front teeth, but I think it is quite common and it should grow back- the tricky bit that might need the vet is making sure it grows back straight and the other teeth dont grow too long in the meantime x

Yes, luckily she is eating hay and pellets as she normally would. I will be monitoring her closely until I can get her to a vet
