Hello. My little boar Poe is having some issues with pooping. He's 9 months, and he's had some health problems due to where he came from before I adopted him.
I noticed yesterday morning that he had not pooped over night. Which is not normal for the little poop machine. He did start pooping after he "woke up" a bit and was paid attention to. He pop-corned all over the cage and wanted attention and his breakfast snack. And seemed to poop fairly normally for the rest of the day, but maybe not quite the volume a normal healthy day is for him.
And the same thing happened today this morning, but this time the pooping was delayed a little longer than it was the previous morning.
He pooped today while I was gone at work...decent amount and normal size and color, but when I changed his bedding this afternoon - he hasn't gone since. Might be because he hates going on his bed blankets, which is what I covered his cage in so I can have better view of his poop and quantity and quality.

He's been given critical care with a little pineapple juice (which we did before when he was little and sick and stopped pooping).
He's eating and drinking normally. Ample hay available and is being eaten.
He's not lethargic at all, he's quite spunky and demanding as usual.

I just don't know what to do or how sick he is.
We're going to see if a vet nearby can give us a probiotic. Thinking that might help.
I've cleaned out his little anal/ball sac area. I didn't see any blockage, but then again I may have been doing it all wrong this whole time. (Used to female guinea pigs).

Any other advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. He's been a very sick pig since I took him in, and this is the first time in a few months that he's been sick and I'm worried.

Have you seen him ducking down and eating his poos at all? the poos that he did, were they his normal size and shape?

I would ask the vet to check him over and feel his tummy, does he seem bloated at all? the tummy would sound hollow when you tap it.

It is positive he is eating and is his usual self. Has he dropped any weight though?

What were his original health issues?

All normal size and shape and he is eating them from what I've seen when I'm home.
No bloat but I will check again today.
I'm positive on the eating and behavior. He scarfed down lettuce and is his usual obnoxious self.
When I brought him home he had a respiratory problem, the antibiotics from that messed up his stomach and so we had to do hand feeding and probiotics. Then he had skin mites and then lastly ear infection. But has gone months in good health. This is the first little hiccup in a while.
Cleaned his cage last night and he pooped. Normal size and color. Just concerned its not enough poop. I may be becoming one of those moms, but I thought its better safe than sorry.

If he isnt bloated, eating well and maitaining his weight then the most likely answer is hes eating more poos than normal, causing it too look like hes producing less.

Try him on probiotics, as an upset in gut flora can be the cause of them eating too many poos x

Sorry if I'm wrong but I though you couldn't give lettuce to Guinea pigs :(

Guinea pigs shouldnt be fed iceberg lettuce.. Little gem, romain, round, lambs, batavia and escarole are all safe lettuces to feed x
