Your guineas names are so regal. Like they're guiena royalty. ☺ Sorry I didn't answer before. I did not see the post.
Makes sense.Princess Elizabeth and Prince Edward![]()
They are very guinea pigish name Cocoa was one of the names I had picked out for Truffle at one point!I haven't had any piggies with a human name yet; it means I just haven't had enough piggies! We have Cocoa and Oreo right now and they got their names because my children named them.
I have named pets human names. My picture of a parrot is my Rickie.Rickie is 27 years old and still going strong. I remember picking that name when I was 12 as I was really crazy about the movie Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. I did have a hamster I named Bubba Truckdriver. He just seemed like a Bubba as he was the biggest hamster I have ever seen.
They're all beautiful☺I named MARY after my mother

Oh my goodness Ricky! What a lovely boy!so precious! What's his personality like?
Birds can be crazy!
Was Bubba a Syrian Hamster?
Rickie is pretty laid back, loves to be sassy yelling "No, bad! You no bad! You no, no, no!", loves to eat, and is an equal opportunity biter! He loves me so much all he does is bite me!
Bubba was a HUGE golden hamster. When I first saw him, he was washing all of the young hamsters in the cage and chased off some of the bullies so the littler ones could eat. I have never seen a male hamster do that.
Beautiful girls ❤Two of mine have human names. They were named at the rescue. Rosie & Cherry. View attachment 159350View attachment 159354
My cousin has birds and they are sassy, and I watch a lot of bird YouTube videos.
I have looked after birds in the past so i know they can be messy and sometimes a bit feral! That being said a couple of her birds are pretty tame.
Ricky is beautiful. I love his colouring. It's a big commitment to look after parrots.
I think people who care for them are very dedicated. What are their needs like? Are they quite specialist? Is their diet specific? I know some birds have more specific nutritional needs than others. Do they need a specialist avian vet? I have looked after these animals when I was doing some vet training (didn't complete became a teacher instead) but I was studying farm animals, cats, dogs and small furries more.
In my training we had lots of aviaries; we had birds like parrots, cockatoos, budgies, finches, kiwis etc... Standard pets but we also had birds of prey like buzzards and owls. We also had rhea. (Which are sort of ostrich like but smaller).
so I am interested to hear about all animals.
Aww Bubba, such a sweet boy ❤
I have had a few hamsters, my favourite was Honey-badger.
She was such a lovely girl, I would put my hand out on the floor of her bin cage and she'd climb on to my hand for cuddles, she was the tamest hamster I've ever known
Thank you for sharing with me. I love to hear about animals. I live vicariously through others. So my fiance doesn't tell me off for adopting too many animals...
Rickie isn't our vet's oldest patient; he has been seeing her the longest. Dr. Lennox always make sure that she sees Rickie since she loves seeing him; he doesn't feel the same. Dr. Lennox is an avian and exotic vet; she sees all sorts of interesting animals in her clinic. The weirdest one I saw was a coatimundi in her office. My mom said one time someone had a lion in the office that was in a really foul mood.
I really wouldn't recommend getting a parrot to anyone now that I know all of the responsibility that goes hand and hand with having a parrot. They live a really long time. Rickie could potentially live up to 80 years old; if that happens, I will be 90! He lives with my parents since he had a massive tantrum when we tried to move him into my house. At some point in time, we will have to try again, but he is great company for my parents and he is happy living with them.
His diet is vegetables, fruits, grains, and special bird pellets. He eats a little bit of what is for dinner excluding meat and unsafe food for birds.
I love hearing about animals too! I just love this forum and all the interesting piggies and their stories.![]()
I think Cherry is an aby x peruvian.Beautiful girls ❤
Is cherry a Peruvian? I have a soft spot for Peruvians. My own sass face Womble is a Peruvian and Rosie has such a beautiful white stripe. Thank you for your gorgeous pictures.![]()
My two favourite types!I think Cherry is an aby x peruvian.
So precious! I had a past pig named Linney who looked a lot like Delilah! All of my current girls have human names (Lottie, Dolly, Paisley, Delilah and Melody.) An overwhelming majority of my past piggies had human names too (Harriet, Tizzie, Willow, Aspen, Theodore, Chester, Timothy, Levi, Max, Bracken, Daisy, Jessie and Katie, although some are uncommon names) The exceptions who didn't have human names were Cookie and Pepper. I guess I have a preference
I won't post a photo of all, just my current 5
