I just bought 2 guinea pigs from a lady today, they where on wood shavings an I immediatly moved them to fleece, but one of the guinea pigs has protruding eyes and I'm assuming it was from getting wood dust in his eye poor fella. I was about to go get some eye wash medicine at the petstore for him but realized I already have some by mannapro, called calm eyes. Says its for horses cats and dogs. Tried to Google if it's safe for guinea pigs but can't find nothing so I figured I'd ask here. If not no big deal I can just go by some more

Poor little guys, I'd head to the vets as it could be quite serious. Eye problems can range from something in the eye to abscesses behind the eye etc. Plus it would be good for health check as they're new bubbas :)

Good luck and speedy recovery!

Please have your piggies vet checked to see whether the protruding eyes are normal or not; like with humans, guinea pig eyes come in different shapes.

Do not home treat on spec, as you can easily make things worse. Please never use any eye products with additional chemicals unless given then clear from a vet.
