Sorry for asking so many questions just want to be prepared, I’m wanting to put my 2x4 c&c cage on the floor next to a window, I know there’s a concern for drafts but there isn’t a draft coming from the window and I’ll have a blanket underneath the cage and they will have fleece bedding & hideys etc, I have a thermometer In the house which tells me the temp and I’ll probably buy one for near the cage but as my living room is joint with the kitchen I wanted it as far away from the kitchen as possible but still so I can see them, so just wondered if they’d be ok to be put under the window, it’s a warm flat and I’ll have the heating on but I’ve attached a photo to show where they’d be going; any advice would be fab! Want to make sure they are the right temp but this is really the most practical place away from sounds and the kitchen

I think that should be OK. As long as there's no drafts and you monitor the temperature on the warmer days.

Yeah if it gets hotter there’s a window up near the top but it’s only small so doesn’t let a big draft in but makes the room a bit cooler

Yep agreed. Mine is under a window and on the warmer days, the turn up the air in the house.
What do you do when it gets a little colder? I was thinking maybe attack some fleece with clips to the side of the cage closest to the window but not sure if that would be good for them?

I would have a look at what time of day the sun shines through the window. If it’s around midday till 2 pm (the hottest and strongest sunshine) I would make sure they have shaded places to get out of the sun rays as they can suffer heat stroke if directly in the sun even inside X

I have an L shaped cage, one side of which is under a window.
I just close the blinds when the sun is bright but it’s quite a shady room.

Would a fleece clipped to the back of the cage be ok for this? So it blocks the sun, the sun doesn’t really shine at that bit as the window is high if that makes sense
