Looking to save some money in the long run and buy hay in bulk. Any suggestions on how to store it to retain the quality as long as possible?

Thanks in advance.

Also, what's the general opinion on Brome hay? There's a very cheap supplier nearby to me, but I've heard that not a lot of guinea pigs like it.

@GerritTheGP You can get fabric bags big enough to hold a bale of hay.

Where would you be keeping it?

You would need to ensure it's good quality. Most farms hay is good but sometimes it can be damp or have thistles in it.

I get my hay from the farm. I buy 2 bales at a time and store in in black bin bags in my garage. I don't do the tops up so the hay doesn't sweat. It keeps fine for around 6-8 weeks which is how long it takes me to use it.
