I do believe stones for some pig's are due to generics rather than diet. I had one pig that was chalked full of stones. I got him from a rescue shortly after taking him I noticed he was losing weight, my vet did a dental that helped but didn't sort the problem it was only when we X-rayed that the stones appeared. They where in his kidneys and bladder also in uretre so operating was not an option. I had him on palliative care - we gave Tramadol for the pain relief and we kept him comfortable. It's definitely an option for pain medicine I've had two pig's on Tramadol and they have both reacted well to it.

He's on Metacam, Tramadol, and Gabapentin! The Gabapentin is a recent addition and seems to be helping.
 
In light of the full radiography report showing extensive mineralisation through out the renal system and a damaged kidney it was decided no more could be done for Bracken, this afternoon he was PTS. No more pain Sweet Pea.
 
Oh @piggieminder I am so very sorry to read this.
You have done so much for Bracken and given him a wonderful life.
I know what a tough decision it must have been for you but it is a gift of love.
Look after yourself and take time to grieve for your gorgeous boy
 
Oh I'm so very sorry to hear your terrible news. Bracken is now at the Rainbow Bridge, in his prime and popcorning and playing zoomies and has his favourite food. You made the hardest decision we all have to in the end. It is the last act of love we can give our beloved pets. Sleep well Bracken.
 
So sorry to hear this. These decisions are so hard to make, but you gave Bracken the greatest and most loving gift.

I'm so sorry to read this @piggieminder . It's so hard when there's nothing more we can do to make our piggies well again, but you gave him 3 months extra with your loving care after he became poorly in October. Sending hugs from me and my 3 piggies x
