Aw lovely photo of Hazel and Milo back home, I’m sure they’ll both feeling much happier xHazel is home. She is still on 5 meds but went straight for the hay as soon as we put her back in the cage.
Thanks to you all for your support and good wishes over the last few days. It has meant a lot to me and Allan. Here she is munching hay with Milo.

Hope Hazel eats well and you all have a good night back together
xxAw Hazel, she is doing so well now she’s home xSo looking for a bit of advice. The vet said that i should completely cut out nuggets from Hazel's diet and should only give her lettuce and hay. This seems a bit over restrictive. We already don't give high calcium veggies, except as an occasional treat and our nuggets are the grain free ones (they only get one tablespoon each per day). Hazel probably only get a small amount of the nuggets anyhow as Milo scoffs them all. I am not sure how quickly bladder stones grow but as we haven't had Hazel very long i am wondering if the damage could have been done by her diet before she joined us.
I was intending to tweak her diet slightly and make sure she gets a lot of mixed lettuce leaves but still give her the red pepper, cucumber and coriander. Does this seem ok? Also, i'm not sure what to do about nuggets does anyone have any evidence that cutting them out completely makes a difference?
Hazel is bright and happy today, she has hardly stopped eating since she came home. Giving her meds last night was a bit traumatic, she actually screamed when i gave them her. I think that it must have been something remembered from being at the vets as this morning she was quite calm about it.
She loves grass, Allan had a handful ready when we got back from the vets. Hopefully our lawn will be dry out enough soon that they can all have some time outside.Aw Hazel, she is doing so well now she’s home x
I would be give her the diet she’s on now, doesn’t sound calcium rich at all. Lettuce doesn’t contain a lot so a few more low calcium bits won’t do any harm, does she tolerate a bit of grass? It may be the diet she was on before you got her that‘s to blame x
I'm definitely going to wean them off the nuggets. Is coriander ok, this is their favourite herb.Simon suggests cutting nuggets out, but says to feed lots of grass, salad leaves and other leavy veg. Peppers are good too!

Milo still weighs almost 1.3kg so losing a few grams certainly won't have done him any harm.Poor girl. I bet she feels better now that is out. Hope she and Milo eat their way back to a good weight again.
that's a great weight.
) horrible stone. . You been a brave piggie. XI’m so glad Hazel’s doing so wellJust a little update, Hazel is doing really well, she is on meds for another few days but is eating really well and is bright and happy. She has lost 50g in weight and surprisingly so has Milo, I think neither of them were eating normally while at the vets.
For those who are interested, below is a photo of the stone that was removed from Hazel's bladder. No wonder she was in so much pain.

Gosh poor Rupert, stones in boars are more serious because of them getting stuck. At least Hazel's was still in her bladder. She is doing well and is now wheeking again for her food. Always a good sign.I’m so glad Hazel’s doing so well ❤ Hope her and Milo keep on munching and get their weight back on very soon!
Poor Hazel with that stone, ouch! I’ve just fished Rupert’s out (no idea why I still have it after all these years!) and it’s even beating his! He had emergency surgery as his was stuck, so pleased Hazel’s is out and hopefully won’t cause her any more problems! Bet she’s feeling so much better! xx

She has a post-op check-up on Tuesday.
Thanks @Betsy, I think I have done all I can with what we had in the house. I don't think anything I have tried will make her feet any worse. We have a vet appointment tomorrow at 5pm. I will bathe her feet again and apply the Sudocrem in the morning (I will try and get some Epsom salts).Yes Patsy had sore feet I used a tablespoon of Epsom salts in 300 ml of warm water for 5 minutes, then put Patsy in just plain water for 2 minutes before drying her off and putting F10 barrier cream on her feet. I did this twice a day for 5 weeks. This was under the guidance of the vet of course.
