Hi guys!
We move house in a couple of weeks, I have 4 elderly (5yrs (ish!)) guinea pigs who have always lived in a shed. When we move my plan is to still have them in a shed (but can’t take current shed with me) with a hutch inside & access to the lawn in the day. To give them more space I considered giving them a two tier hutch. However; they have never had to use a ramp before. A friend of mine had to have her pig PTS as she fell from the ramp and broke her spine so understandably I’m very worried about giving my pigs a ramp when they’ve never had one before especially now they’re older? Do you guys have any suggestions? They’re used to about 6ft X 4ft of shed space & access to run in the day (providing it’s good weather now they’re older).

*money is a slight object due to just buying our first home*

You can buy tunnels to attach to ramps somewhere, though I can't for the life of me remember where. Alternatively you could nail/screw some wood to the side so it's enclosed. And put something on the ramp so they have grip going up. As far as I know falling off ramps and being fatally injured isn't a common thing. Sorry for your friend's loss.
