So I’ve got a tonne of grids ready to build a C and C cage for my two boys- well two cages actually as they’ve decided they want to kill each other.

I now need a stand (long and wide tho not super wide) that the cage can go on. Ideally I’m thinking one that has space underneath for another cage to go as I plan on having two. Length wise i can probably manage one of 150-155cm.

I’ve scoured IKEA and a couple of other furniture websites but nothing is popping up that o could really use. They’re either the length but not wide enough or wide enough but not long enough.

many thanks

I built our stand, you could buy a piece of MDF and then some table legs, B&Q will cut it to size I think! I search and search the internet for things but couldn’t find anything suitable!
The Ikea Limmon tables are also a popular option if you can find a way to configure them!

I used the Ikea Trofast storage units for the base of my piggy house. I put two back to back to get the width I needed. It's great to use the bins with the unit since then you have neat storage.

Or you could build the base out of C&C grids too. That would add storage too.

Sorry your beautiful boys have had a falling-out
I had my 5x3 c&c on an old dining table. The table was oval, so the cage had a grid floor to ensure any parts of the cage that were over the edge were properly supported. I had some of their boxes of stuff underneath it.

I’ve seen the C and C grids for stands (I’d defintely have to purchase some more for this I think) just worried about how sturdy it would be- especially with me building it !😂😂 my boys live in my bedroom by my bed and my dogs don’t really enter but I still want the stand purely to keep them up off the ground else I’d just have the cage on the floor

Yes I am absolutely devastated that they fell out with each other. It happened after Steve fell poorly, they just will not tolerate each other now.

The grid stand is pretty sturdy. I had my boys in a c&c and used the same grids for the stand. You could always pass a length of wood through the top grids of the stand. I did that when the two pairs were inside. Just something to think about.

PS you can use the same grids for the cage to build the stand. I did.

I USE TWO WOODEN SAW HORSES FROM HOME DEPOT IT'S SOOO EASY TO STORE STUFF UNDER THEM

Mine is very sturdy - because of their cage being wide sometimes I have to lean a bit on the base otherwise I’d fall in the cage when cleaning it towards the back and it doesn’t move at all. The grids are good as there is space for storage underneath too! If you look on c and c cage websites with pre-done bases you can see how to place each grid for it to be safe ☺️

We have the cage underway guys! Hopefully gonna get it resurrected today and the stand will come after. My bedroom is mainly cage now but they’re worth it!

I do plan on extending it further but at the moment while I’m having two cages (one for each boy) this is as big as I can really go for each one

Is that for for one boy or you’ll be splitting it?

One boar. Other boar will have same made for him.

Otherwise I’d make on massive cage lol, but unfortunately my boys don’t get along now. Older members will know the two used to be best mates but since Steve got poorly they now want to kill each other.

Don’t worry, I know the cage guidelines ☺️
