Siikibam
Senior Guinea Pig
I was thinking that. Because any damp from the ground would just come up from the bottom to the piggies. And what about spiders or snakes getting through those cage bars?Is the bottom bit a metal grid like the rest of it or did you make something for the base?
Does that keep them dry though? We put flattened cardboard boxes or leaf litter and newspaper.
@anyar.dris This is a fantastic set up! I am going to extend my guinea pigs’ cage and this has given me some great ideasMine are in the living room. They are free range but they are locked in their cage during bed time at night.

That’s an awesome set upSo sorry you’ve lost some of your piggies
RIP Little ones x
My two girls are in a Ferplast Plaza 200 cm x 60 cm and when I get my boy Ted home we will join another 100 cm Ferplast Plaza cage to it via a ramp. Ted has not been bonded yet to his future wives but met for sofa time. Because of lock down he has been lodging at TEAS furryfriends a charity that looks after piggies with special needs and dental problems. This way he can be near his vet for conscious dentals. We live 300 miles from his vet so travelling has been difficult over this time.He will be coming home next month,

Lots of ideas for c&c’s hereHi! This is exactly what i want to do. Can i ask how your C&C is attached to the hutch to stop them squeezing out of the gap?
I just tied the C&C to the hutch door using tie wires (the one on the wall side). Then as you can see, under the hutch are a few bricks so they won't go underneath it.Hi! This is exactly what i want to do. Can i ask how your C&C is attached to the hutch to stop them squeezing out of the gap?
Hello yes @Siikibam we have sorted it out! We use towels and seaweed mats that are safe for Guinea-Pigs@Grand Guinea Pigs did you ever sort out a base for the guinea pigs’ cage? You seem to have avoided the question twice. Maybe third time’s the charm...
Thanks.Awwww they are so cute.
please don’t forget to make the base into something more permanent. A limo off cut would be really great I reckon!
Here is a thread on recommended sellers (for custom made fleece items).I just looked at a bedding guide on here and see if I can buy some fleece, any suggestions on a website to get it from?
