Hey! wondering where and what you put your piggies in?

I'll try again, but it has to go from my phone to google photos and then i have to download it and insert the image.
When you take a photo you should be able to attach it using the option below the text box. It should then ask you to go to your photo library or take photo. Or browse. 8131D0B0-F3A3-448D-AEEE-3AE13D775783.webpF3D4BC9F-C193-4870-A9CD-68D99963B789.webp

Is the bottom bit a metal grid like the rest of it or did you make something for the base?

I was thinking that. Because any damp from the ground would just come up from the bottom to the piggies. And what about spiders or snakes getting through those cage bars?

I’d say that’s not really suitable. Can you build a little concrete floor and line with Lino or something? Bear in mind the ground can also get cool/cold in winter...

Awwww they are so cute.

please don’t forget to make the base into something more permanent. A limo off cut would be really great I reckon!

@Grand Guinea Pigs did you ever sort out a base for the guinea pigs’ cage? You seem to have avoided the question twice. Maybe third time’s the charm...

So sorry you’ve lost some of your piggies
RIP Little ones x
My two girls are in a Ferplast Plaza 200 cm x 60 cm and when I get my boy Ted home we will join another 100 cm Ferplast Plaza cage to it via a ramp. Ted has not been bonded yet to his future wives but met for sofa time. Because of lock down he has been lodging at TEAS furryfriends a charity that looks after piggies with special needs and dental problems. This way he can be near his vet for conscious dentals. We live 300 miles from his vet so travelling has been difficult over this time.He will be coming home next month, 🤞

That’s an awesome set up 👏👏👏

So many cute pigtures on this thread 😍

I had a pig with a heart condition too. Our regular rescue lady saw me coming and gave me Peewee as a tiny little nugget when I rescued one of my old girls (Prue). She told me she wasn’t sure whether she would last one week, one year, or ten years. She lasted three 🥰

Hi! This is exactly what i want to do. Can i ask how your C&C is attached to the hutch to stop them squeezing out of the gap?
I just tied the C&C to the hutch door using tie wires (the one on the wall side). Then as you can see, under the hutch are a few bricks so they won't go underneath it.

How cold does it get? Towels can take time to dry properly so I would consider using something else absorbent on the floor. Do they have access to the seaweed mats?

No they don’t have access to the mats, it is squishy and off the ground.
I change the towels everyday, and at night it is about 16 to 24 degrees Celsius.
but thanks for your concern.
