The home made piggy items on this forum inspired me and I bought my first ever sewing machine 2 days ago. I have never done this before so everything is very basic and the material so far has been very cheap as I know I will make many mistakes but, last night I made 2 snuggle pouches and I'm feeling very proud!

Large size (fits 2 piggies) modelled here by Edna :D

Thanks everyone. It is so much fun making them. I've been watching video tutorials all evening (youtube) and can't wait to get started on more projects. Need to go buy some supplies first so off shopping tomorrow :D

It's a great feeling when you've made something for your piggies and they love it isn't it. Good job, the piggies look very cozy.

Bit more adventurous this evening. A tunnel!

It went a bit odd shaped as the fleece inside ended up a bit smaller than the cotton but I don't think Eva minds :)

I put it in her cage about 20 mins ago and right now there are 3 baby piggies fast asleep in it

Photo's are great. You're getting handy with the sewing machine too. Looking great. IMG_0051.webp
Just realised that your Eva looks bit like my Mowgli.

Mowgli is the guinea pig, being adoringly looked over by Penny the pup (whose not a pup).

Wow they are fantastic! I see the homemade piggy items too and think "They are amazing" but sewing is way too far out of my comfort zone to attempt.

Have your piggies ever thought of taking up modelling?:love:

This is my first ever sewing machine and I'm amazed how easy some of the projects are, especially with video tutorials. I am making a lot of mistakes and botching things but the great thing is that the piggies don't care :D

Oh wow, they are very alike

I just finished making a house. Again, I did a lot wrong and I was following a very vague plan but it's not come out too bad.

That's a awesome job!

Made a couple more tunnels today. These are so easy, I can see the new C&C cage being full of them :lol!: I will need some boy fabric for Emmett's area. I think these are a bit girlie for him :xd:

I also had a go at making a corner hide but I made 2 mistakes. 1, the hole is only big enough for babies and 2, I didn't use enough batting so it's a bit too floppy. I will try again soon :)

Utterly amazing. My (swear word) sewing machine wont go through 3 layers of fabric so I made cage liners by hand!

and now I can finally comment! you are not a beginner! your creations are perfect! I have no words, really!
My mother was a seamstress, but I am not even able to inser a thread in the needle of her sewing machine...:soz:

I can't thread the needle. I have to use a needle threader but I think that is mainly down to my awful eyesight. I have the eyesight of a 60 year old.. I'm only 39 and have to wear varifocals :(

When you look at a lot of the things I've made, close up, you can see the mistakes but the main thing is I'm really enjoying myself and the piggies are getting lots of new items too.

I made myself and my daughter some bits today, some cushion covers with material scraps and also a pin cushion :)

My wife is learning a new machine as well she has made like 10 liners a few corner hideaways a few hay sacks pee pads ..not perfect but getting much better and they for my use so good enough and saved a ton of money I'm thinking I may see if she can do a tunnel...

I've found the tunnels the easiest so far and I can now make them without the guide. I even made a smaller version for my hamster. Cage liners are on my list to do but I need to get some more supplies first.

I use this tutorial:

Oh good idea, I have been wondering what to do with my fabric scraps. So far I have not tried to sew anything that isn't piggie related.

perfection! I don't see any mistake and my mother used to see a lot of mistakes also in dresses sold in the best shops!
39 is definitely a weird age, I see...:)) when I was 39 I had some trouble with my menses and I went to get an ultrasound; I remember the lady doctor... she said "my Nan is 92 and has a womb better than yours" :(
Anyway, there are good lenses!:woot: therefore no excuses for stopping creating all those gorgeous items!:luv:
and I love the pattern of the fabric!
brava!:tu:
