Glad it's ok phewAh I cannot read things like gum tree...I'd have loads. Days like today are dangerous for temptation!
Phone is ok everyone, amazingly! I panicked, grabbed it, then dropped it in the water AGAIN! Nearly had heart failure as it's a work phone. Thank goodness it's seems none the worse for it. It's In a good casing so hoping that help (phew, wipes brow). Can you imagine explaining to the boss, that I dropped it in the guinea pigs bath water! Omg![]()

Will have to show my Oreo the pic once he wakes up....I've got lazy piggies today
Hi and welcome, I've had mine for about 8 weeks ish too this was the first time I had bathed mine and it was just due to them having sticky bottoms and the fur round that area was getting smelly and a bit hard to brush (mine have long coats so I have to keep the hair short around their bottoms and I brush them daily) they have not really smelt funny until a few days ago due to sitting in their urine (yuk) fly strike is a worry so I check their bits are clean each day at the mo with this weather being warm. I'm not sure how often you need to bath them if at all Hun as I know of people that have never bathed their piggies and there years old. I would just brush them daily checking for matted fur and if they get a bit smelly or have mucky bottoms then just pop a tiny amount of luke warm water in your sink with the piggy shampoo I stood each one in the skin and rubbed the water around their bottoms then put them on a towel chanced the water for plain Luke warm water and popped them back in to rinse any shampoo off them dried each one as much as I could.Hello everyone, after reading some of the above posts about bathing your piggies how important is it to do this? I have only had my two girls for about 8 weeks now and they seem to be settling in ok. Still a bit nervous of us but we handle them as much as possible and talk to them every time we are near the hutch. They seem to have a mad half hour every night when they have a good run round with lots of rumbling and nose to nose encounters and try and mount each other, then just settle down for a sleep. I used to keep piggies years ago and don't remember this behaviour. Other than that they are delightful... They are supposed to be my granddaughters but they are just too cute!
Thanks for that, I think I will leave well alone unless there is a problem. They might not take kindly to water until they are perfectly relaxed with us.Hi and welcome, I've had mine for about 8 weeks ish too this was the first time I had bathed mine and it was just due to them having sticky bottoms and the fur round that area was getting smelly and a bit hard to brush (mine have long coats so I have to keep the hair short around their bottoms and I brush them daily) they have not really smelt funny until a few days ago due to sitting in their urine (yuk) fly strike is a worry so I check their bits are clean each day at the mo with this weather being warm. Your names are my cup of tea they don't look like a Beyoncé or a gagaHahah I like the 'one for each week and a day off on sunday' that's just great, made me giggle. No I have named them, they were originally called Lady Gaga and Beyoncé so they couldn't stay lol. They are about 4 years old and to be fair they do look to have been 'looked after' so to speak. They are just tucking into some veggies, don't think they've ever had any!
Glad to hear they look good Ruth at least two more very happy years a head for themHi Kell. They look good, skin is clear and nails are nice and trim and clean. Cage was small but clean and they didn't have hay or veg but they do now. I've left them to it tonight to let them settle in. They were being rehomed as the child had lost interest, they'd had them 4 years but kids a teenager now and not interest. They look very healthy with shiny coats etc but will be keeping an eye on them![]()
Ahhh that's so trueWhat a nice post it went from a rainy day story to a rehoming happy ending![]()
