Introducing a pig to a bun

Hello :)

I have 3 little female piggies who are my babies! I’ve recently adopted a mini lop bunny who is living in a separate cage to the pigs but I would like to introduce them to each other and have play dates.
Is there any tips or advice? :)

Putting a gpig with a rabbit is a big no no. Rabbits can and have killed guinea pigs by kicking them with their powerful rear legs.

Sadly alot of petshops still keep them together. Could you get another rabbit to bond with your lop?
 
I won’t be putting them in the same cage, just in a play area under my supervision- they will always be living separately

Introducing a rabbit to your guinea pigs is dangerous, and offers none of the animals any benefit.
Your guinea pigs sound lovely, and will be perfectly happy living as a group of 3 as they thrive on companionship from their own species.

I am also a big rabbit fan (we have 2) and they also really need a companion of their own species.
In fact I think my rabbits are definitely much closer to each other than any of my guinea pigs.
So maybe consider getting a friend for you rabbit and keeping them in 2 separate groups.

I absolutely agree with the others. Even under supervision, rabbits and guinea pigs should never be together. Not only is there a risk of injury to the piggies - and it would happen so quickly you wouldnt be able to stop it - rabbits carry a bacteria which can cause guinea pigs lots of problems. Always keep them apart. As has been mentioned, they will not be able to communicate with each other so there will be no benefit to them ever being introduced.
I have rabbits and guinea pigs and never even mix the gloves or equipment I use to clean out their cages so to minimise the risk of spreading anything.

I will definitely take your advice and I want all my babies to be happy and safe!
My piggies (Sherbet, Truffle and Caramel) are very happy together and wouldn’t want to change that! My little bun Minnie is settling in and will most likely be getting her a little companion :)
