Teenage Guinea Pig
Hello all! So you may have noticed I've been a bit quiet for the past few weeks... Well that's because we've bought our first house! We had two weeks to renovate it before the lease on our rental property ran out.
The piggies were very patient, if a little confused, but as soon as they got into their new pad, everyone realised it was worth it!
Come and take a look around:
Decorations from BooBoo and Ted (Etsy)
This is The Guinea Piggery! It's a bedroom with new vinyl flooring, a pet barrier in the doorway, and a nice big window.
The pigs have a two storey cage built with C&C for most of it, and based with fleece. Cable ties add extra security to the grids' structure and all sockets have safety plugs so pigs can't get they're claws in and shock themselves!
The ramp is made from the side of their old cage (120cm metal), covered with correx and then wrapped in fleece.
Upstairs is a kitchen and bathroom space. This minimises the frequency the entire room needs cleaning as most food waste and pig poop is in one place.
Downstairs has lots of things to play with and places to explore, along with a darkened sleeping quarters
But most importantly, the cage is always open, so the pigs can come and go as they please
