Hello all! So you may have noticed I've been a bit quiet for the past few weeks... Well that's because we've bought our first house! We had two weeks to renovate it before the lease on our rental property ran out.

The piggies were very patient, if a little confused, but as soon as they got into their new pad, everyone realised it was worth it!

Come and take a look around:

This is The Guinea Piggery! It's a bedroom with new vinyl flooring, a pet barrier in the doorway, and a nice big window.

The pigs have a two storey cage built with C&C for most of it, and based with fleece. Cable ties add extra security to the grids' structure and all sockets have safety plugs so pigs can't get they're claws in and shock themselves!
The ramp is made from the side of their old cage (120cm metal), covered with correx and then wrapped in fleece.

Upstairs is a kitchen and bathroom space. This minimises the frequency the entire room needs cleaning as most food waste and pig poop is in one place.

Downstairs has lots of things to play with and places to explore, along with a darkened sleeping quarters :)

But most importantly, the cage is always open, so the pigs can come and go as they please :)

This is soo awesome! Pig heaven  I've been trying to find a practical way to do something similar as I have a spare bedroom, but it has shaggy carpeting and I'm renting the house so I can't change the floors. My pigs and I are seriously jealous of your set-up

Was wondering when you were moving in and how the renovations were going @Kallasia now I know! Obviously the major structural stuff has been done like the gable end etc how about the rest of the house? I LOVE your guinea piggery!

@Betsy and @Reenie the new roof is on which is the main thing! We've painted/wallpapered about three quarters of what needed doing. We've sanded the floors and varnished them, except where carpet was installed (and except where we had vinyl for the pigs of course) but there's an awful lot left to do.
We moved in on Saturday, with the pigs moving in the day before.
Last night the boiler broke so we're off to a good start... We've got an electric heater for the pigs in case it gets cold but nothing for ourselves!

Here's some action shots:
