Recently I've noticed tiny grayish specks on my guniea pig. Most of them seem to be on her behind. Some of them appear to move but none of them are attached to her skin it's all on her fur. Shes also not experiencing any hair loss as of now but she does bite her side an awful lot. Can anyone help me identify what these are? Also how did she get them? We dont own another pets

Hi!

It rather looks like hay mites (chriodiscoides caviae) to me, but please have them vet checked.

We have seen a sharp rise in them in recent years due to a change in mass harvesting methods, which is churning up the ground a lot more and allowing more bugs to get into hay of large branded companies that sell world-wide.

Please take the time to read this link here. It contains more information: What to check and look out for in new guinea pigs (vet checks, sexing, parasites&illness)
