yea your right there. And i will keep an eye on her weight. I have some scales for her. Shes on 1085 at the moment. She lost a bit after the bloatedness went downI think once they've been poorly, it can be easy to fall into the trap of thinking that they can't survive without our supportive care. I would keep an eye on her weight and just top her up if it starts to fall.
Shes is on painkiller. And the vet said it maybe cystitis. He doesnt know what the bladder lump is without operating. So i guess we are treating her now like it is cystitis. Using metacam and zythromax. I just hope it isnt cancer. Because i found an old thread on here the othet day that matched dots symptoms and xray exactly the same@Skypipdot How's she doing now? Did you mention anything about cystitis to the vet? I've used a glucosamine supplement on one of my bladder stone pigs in the past. Also, if she seems to be hurting when peeing and/or pooping it might be worth asking if you can up the pain killer a bit.
Where do i get this? I mite get another xray done in a few weeksWe recently lost our Fudgie, she had a bladder tumour and we found Cystease really made a difference for her! Might be worth a try? Got everything crossed for your baby, hope she gets back to her normal self soon!![]()
Did she die from the bladder tumour? Sorry for your lossWe recently lost our Fudgie, she had a bladder tumour and we found Cystease really made a difference for her! Might be worth a try? Got everything crossed for your baby, hope she gets back to her normal self soon!![]()
She did sadly, but she was 7-7.5 years old so a fantastic age! Thank youDid she die from the bladder tumour? Sorry for your loss
Yea thats really a good age. My boar i lost about a month ago was in his seventh year and died of cancerShe did sadly, but she was 7-7.5 years old so a fantastic age! Thank you![]()
thankyou. When i stopped syringe feeding she seemed to be loads happier. I have been letting her out for floor time with my un neutered boar and they get on so well. It really cheers her up. I'm watching him like a hawk tho incase he gets randy. Its such a shame i dont dare get bernie neutered. At first he kept rumble strutting, then after about half hour they were eating together and just not bothered atall by each otherSo glad Dot is better.
I’m sure your commitment to caring for her made all the difference
I know people will kick off on here saying watch out for dot getting pregnant but i am literally watching constantly lolthankyou. When i stopped syringe feeding she seemed to be loads happier. I probably will. My wife is the one who is worried about it really, I'm not, asolng as i talk to my vet about it all first. I will have to turn 2 large cages into 1 huge one ready for them.if they live togetherJust catching up with your thread. I am so happy for you that Dot is getting better and I hope that the bladder lump isn’t anything sinister.
Why are you afraid to get your boar neutered? It sounds like him and Dot would easily bond.
Granted, he was neutered when I adopted him but Edward and Ellen get on so well together. It’s lovely to watch xx
I'm almost sure they would bond. Bernie only rumble struts around her for the hidey house and thats it (floor time)Just catching up with your thread. I am so happy for you that Dot is getting better and I hope that the bladder lump isn’t anything sinister.

Yea i feel well irresponsible for letting them out together. But I'm just doing it to keep dot on her toes. Is it true thats they have to re astablish hirarchy everytime i get them out?Glad Dot is doing better.
Hope she continues to improve.
I agree with @Claire W ’s question about neutering- it would be less stressful for them both and less risky whennyou let them out together
Ok i will look into it. Little does burnie know lol. Itl mean i dont have to deal with impaction again if he gets old age. So 2 birdsSpeak to Simon or Kim when they get back from holiday. I get all the male piggies neutered, before adoption, and I’ve never had a post op issue with any of them.
sorry forgot to ask, How much roughly is neutering ?Speak to Simon or Kim when they get back from holiday. I get all the male piggies neutered, before adoption, and I’ve never had a post op issue with any of them.
