Lump found in female gp

Bit stuck on what to do. Dot has gone back to hiding away again. Comes out and grazes a little bit. Has a little bit of veg. But i can tell shes not comfortable.

From her last vet visit, it was confirmed on an xray that she has a growth on the inside of her bladder wall. It isnt big. Simon my vet at the cat and rabbit care clinic( guinea pigs too) said that he can only tell.what it is by going in and having a look.

But he did say that her chances wouldnt be great because of what he has to get past to get to it. She has lost a bit of weight due to the lack of grazing. And she seems.to pick.up a bit when i put new hay in. Shes also very active on floor time. I'm giving her metacam twice a day again. Works a bit but not great. I dont think i can do much for her other than try a diffetent anti biotic. Because about 2 weeks after she finished the zythromax she has gone like this again. She did pee blood the other night and squealed a bit. But nothing since then. Are there any other antibiotics to try, I'm guessing she could have a uti or that lump could be infected. She definitly has no stones

I'm really scared of losing her young

There are lots of other antibiotics you could try, but best to get an appointment to see Simon or Kim to find out what they suggest. How long was she on Zithromax at the correct dose?
since you started the correct one.until about a week ago maybe. Il call up tomorrow and see when i can get her in. Hoping work isnt too busy. She went through 2 bottles of zythromax

I pray it isnt something unfixable. The zythromax did work. But shes relapsed. So must have cleared something up and then it came back

Dot definitly had a whole bottle of zythromax at the correct dose. ( 0.5)ml This bottle was her 2nd bottle. I got it after the bottle you were giving her whilst you were taking care of her. So i think changing the antibiotics is the next step. It does work but whatever is wrong is coming back. Its really confusing and i know il nevet know what is causing her illness.

I have already decided i am not putting her through an operation or another xray. And at the same time i dont want to be syringing feeding the poor girl for the rest of her days. Its just no life

So sorry Dot is feeling not so good again. You could always ask Simon about changing pain relief also, metacam didn’t really help my scruff last week but we increased the dose and gave him and additional painkiller also. So worth discussing. Good luck.

Shes on 0.25 twice a day. Loxicom it is.ill call up tomorrow.

Obviously it depends on piggie weight and long term effects but scruff was bumped up to 0.5 twice a day for a week to cope with pain. So I think there is always room to keep them comfortable.

I might up it. What was your pigs weight. Dot is about 980g now

Thanks means alot. Shes out grazing at the moment and drinking . And climbing up to see burnie
I am thinking half her problem is boredom
.i need to get her living with burnie

I have just weighed dot. Yesterday she was 980g and now 1026g lol.

It would be lovely to have 2 well pigs again. Dot got ill literally straight after sky passed from cancer. I was nursing him for about 7 weeks. And now dot since about mid july lol. Whos next

Cant get dot in vets atall this week its stacked out with appointments because simon and kim have just came back from holiday, but i have called and they are going to call me back. I asked if its possible to get more antibiotics and even change it for a different one if i can, without taking dot in

I dont know because I'm at work. But she was out waiting for her veg i gave her before i leave. And was grazing on hay a bit. Yesterday tho during and after floor time she was amazingly active and happy. She could be bored you know. Could be half her problem. But she definitly needs some more meds

Yea i am looking into getting him neutered and getting a ferplast 160 cage it looks decent enough for two. I was jus making sure i didnt put bernie with dot if she had a uti. But i dont think she has

I'm getting another course of zythromax and more loxicom. But kim said if its an abcess the antibiotics will only surpress it. So will quite likely have dot on loxicom for life.

Its just the blood i see in her pee the other day, that is the reason why i want the zythromax. After this course there will not be another one for this illness incase of a tolerance built up to it, which may have already happened when i dropped her dosage a while back.

The loxicom does seem to be holding off her discomfort enough at the moment. My wife called earlier and said dot is out grazing and looking at burnie lol. I havnt syringe fed dot for about 3 weeks now and her weight drops and raises between about 960g to 1026g. What i mean is this is min and max i see. It goes between this day to day

Sorry for writing a book but i thought id say the whole thing thats going on instead of in bits.

Just brought a mcdonalds back to eat and dot wheeked the loudest i have ever heard, you could see her abdomen area going in and out, she put a huge effort into it. I hsd to give her some kale, thats what she thought the bag russling was. Bless her, cheered me up no end.

Dot has been out for floor time and left blood in her pee. Had a look at her privates and yep blood. But she is acting normal and happy. Shes half way through her current course of zythromax.

Its got to be that tumour or abscess on her bladder wall, It cant be operated on without very high risk of losing her.

Things to note
. No weight loss
. Very active especially floor time
. Wheeking when pooing but only sometimes
. Same goes for peeing i think
. Poo is healthy and plenty of
. No bladder stones or sludge on xray
. Appetite is very good
