Hi, Speedy has a free moving non-attatched lump on his neck, which has been biopsied by vet (£300), which has been diagnosed as "probably cancerous". Surgery to remove it is quoted as £1000, plus a further £300 for a follow up check. We are advised that there is no great rush to decide. Has anybody has similar experience with their piggies, and which course of action did you follow please?

Speedy is approaching 5 years-ish old, not certain, as we adopted him. At a very recent check up, we were advised that " he is a very healthy Guinea Pig in his prime".

Any thoughts will be gratefully received.

Rob.

Hello there to you both.
I am sorry Speedy and you are in this situation, I have no experience but didn't want to read and move on.
One of our experts like @Piggies&buns will hopefully be along soon to advise 💐

Sorry I can’t advise but as @CTWC said one of the health experts will be able to advise

May I suggest that for security purposes you change your location to something less specific than your postcode.
I think that SO postcodes are Southampton so you could change it to just Southampton or the county
We don’t want anyone to be able locate members unless it’s with permission

Sorry, the guinea pig vet is too far away. There is this vet: Pet Practice, 5 Darby's Lane, Poole, Dorset, BH15 3ER. Phone number 01202 649999.
