Maisie Has Cystitis

Thanks! Geeat to hear your pig is gaining weight. Lily was wheeking tonight again but she ate her first piece of pepper in two weeks tonight so hoping that is her appetite back!

maisie was 900g yesterday and she's 920g today. she moves up and down within a certain range. hopefully that range will move higher as we go on.

she really doesn't want the marbocyl at the minute and got quite upset the night before last so last night she had it in some mashed banana and that went down well. :)

thank you. i felt like the worst person ever when she was getting upset over the marbocyl so this means alot.

maisie is 945g today and doing well. she had her marbocyl in some mashed cucumber last night :luv: :))
 
hi glad shes feeling better, our piggies can smell meds a mile off no matter how we try and disquise it, weve had a pig with cystitis unfortunatley it dident end well for us. but were happy yours is doing well.:P

maisie had her second hcg injection earlier. she's doing really well and is up at 1009g today

her metacam is being reduced for the next two weeks but the marbocyl and cerenia doses will stay the same.

she was so brave having the injection. squealed a little bit but nothing major. proud of her.

i'm really pleased with her weight. this is the most she has gained after the first week on a course of meds, so i'm feeling really hopeful this time. she seems different this time aswell. i think marbocyl is brill. it's the one that finally got ches stable aswell when he had sludge.

and eddie is losing some chunkiness now, as maisie increases, which is great because he has become a bit overweight for his frame. so he's looking better aswell. the vet called him a roly poly last time so that was embarrassing. :)) :luv: so if maisie gains a bit more, and eds loses the same, they'll both be ideal weights for them. :)

i think she needed this cyst treatment aswell, combined with the cystitis treatment. it seems to be working really well so far. :)
 
960g today. she was so desperate for her cucumber that she tried to grab the syringe and throw it out of the way! :))
 
Sounds like she is doing so well. really pleased for you. Could we have a Maisie pigture?
 
maisie is 950g today. i have some pigtures of her being weighed which i will post later. i took them on my phone and have to send them to o/h's phone first and then he can upload them! i have an old antique brick of a phone! :))

945g today.

she seemed to drop weight when the metacam was reduced, as we suspected would happen. there does seem to be an adjustment each time. hopefully now she will begin to get higher within the range again, as she's got one week left to go for this course.
 
965g today. i get the feeling she is getting a bit fed up of the meds now. don't blame her really. mind you, she was asleep in her hay nest and wasn't impressed that i was getting her out. i felt really mean. but we had a nice cuddle after meds and she started to nod off bless her. :luv:
 
she was fine with her meds tonight, so earlier she was probably all cosy in her nest when i rudely disturbed her and she wasn't impressed. oops. she also had the marbocyl in some mashed banana again so that cheered her up. :))
 
yeh, she gets a crazed look in her eyes though when there is narna about!

she's 965g again today. bright and happy. in a really good mood actually. :luv:
 
does anyone know what i could add to the marbocyl so that i can syringe it into her mouth instead of mixing it with some food? i asked about cranberry juice earlier in this thread but i didn't end up giving it because it contained sweeteners even when no added sugar and that concerned me.

i would feel more comfortable syringing it into her but she absolutely refuses to let me. she drinks the metacam and cerenia fine. has anyone ever tried mixing the meds? or can anyone recommend any kind of juice without sugars or sweeteners? thanks.
