Meet Edamame 😍

Eddie takes pellets from my hand now 😍 he’ll snatch veggies too before running off with them. Lettuce is his favourite so far. Tofu continues to act as if all his christmases have come at once

Showing off Ed’s colouring (he might be agouti? He looks a lot more ginger in person along with the lovely chocolate brown)

Seeing this close up picture, it could be a golden agouti from more close up. You will know when the baby hairs are falling out and are replaced by lighter ones; especially the golden tips.

My Llelo was initially a mix of shades of three shades of ginger at birth but the darkest shade turned into chocolate agouti although with his lighter coat it was more obvious. You have to wait and see what happens - I love those kinds of surprise coats!

I would think if part of Eddie's coat turned out to be agouti it would end up looking like this. It may just be chocolate and a dark baby red. The belly tends to be generally lighter in piggies. The sunlight brings out the full glory of the golden agouti coat.

Thank you for the picture spam! Eddie and Tofu are brightening up my day indeed!

That is interesting! I love the gorgeous colours on Llelo's coat. Ed does look quite similar to Tegyd, but as you say he's very young so we'll have to see how he grows up. I am intrigued - though he's beautiful either way

Haha I'm glad the photo spam is welcome! I can't resist, he's just so small and sweet. He's spending more time out in the open with Tofu so it's getting easier to grab pictures

Ed does grow so fast! He’s 290g this morning 😮

He’s getting wise to the pick-up bag (a snuggle sack I use to transport them). I thought he’d learn quick as he has Tofu to watch, and Tofu knows to walk into the bag to come for meds. The first few days it worked and Eddie ran straight in

Not so the last couple of mornings 😅 over the bag, around the bag, in-then-out of the bag so fast I pick it up only to realise he’s still in the cage… Tofu helped by nuzzling my hand for food the entire time too 😂

We did get them both out for meds & weigh eventually! Ed was in a sunbeam so you can see the little ginger ring around his eyes ❤️

Tofu’s eyes are acting up a bit again. He’s seeing the specialist vet next week, it’s probably the stress of the last few weeks but it’ll be good to have a check up

Ah beautiful Tofu I hope his eyes will get sorted asap
They are so sweet together ❤️❤️

Edamame has put on 100g since he and Tofu were first bonded! The size difference is getting less noticeable

Tofu’s eyes are still quite weepy and he had some gunk in his left one, which is usually his better one. He has his regular check up with the eye specialist tomorrow. Fingers crossed nothing has progressed too far with the masses in there, I do think he’s lost a bit more sight out of his right eye but that’s to be expected really. He’s very relaxed and happy in himself and his weight is normal which are good signs

He’s chilling out in his favourite tunnel 😂❤️

They are so lucky to have you!

And the size difference is definitely still noticeable! Lol.

They are such a cute pair and Tofu is a wonderful 'uncle boar', looking after the little baby boy and teaching him.

Haha yes he is still much smaller 😂 just not quite as teeny as he was!

Had a good veggie time tonight!

Uncle Tofu showing Ed that it’s okay to take food from us

Ed getting brave enough to come closer

Taking a spring green leaf too big so he has to hold it down with his paw 😂

They do make a good pair ❤️

Tofu had a good vet appointment yesterday for his eye check up. There are some changes to the heterotropic bone growth, and some irritation on his cornea which was causing the gunk, but all in all it’s well controlled. He won’t need another check up for a year unless something changes as the vet was very happy with his condition!

Edamame was a hit with the receptionists 😍 they were all cooing over him. He did very well for his first trip out of the house and I think we’re forgiven as I gave him a giant fresh pile of hay this morning and he zoomed everywhere

‼️ Cuteness Warning ‼️

Found a bald spot on Eddie this morning :/ it’s on his back and has some kind of scab, but it’s not a bite wound (I think). I know it probably needs a vet check - going to see if I can get him booked in next week

IMG_3396.webp IMG_3393.webp

His weight is 341g now (!) and he’s zooming and popcorning everywhere. Getting so confident ❤️

I’m stuck at home with a sinus infection at the moment. Watching him and Tofu brings plenty of entertainment while I can’t do much!

Get well soon and hope it's nothing serious with Eddie 💐

Thank you 😊 I’ve booked him in for Tuesday, which was the next routine appointment they had. Will keep an eye on him until then

He did a big zoom around the cage when I put him back, and he wasn’t flinching or complaining when I prodded him all over lol, so I hope it’s nothing too bad

They look so comfortable with each other, and Eddie looks comfortable with you in the other picture ❤️
And get well soon from the sinus thing xx

Ed vs Pellet this morning. Ed won, just - only for Tofu to immediately steal it 😂

IMG_3488.webp IMG_3492.webp IMG_3467.webp IMG_3468.webp

I do love Ed’s white leg! They are now both off to the vets on Tuesday as Tofu is due his medication review, and they could turn it into a double appointment, which is handy

Tofu has been a dutiful uncle boar and taught Ed that tunnels and hideys are meant to be flattened
