Hi Stripe, sitting with your front feet out is the best way! It’s very comfy and it looks cute so you get more treats for doing it (well, that works on my humans anyway).

I have been trying out napping with my back leg out and that is also proving effective!

Meet Edamame (Ed or Eddie for short), Tofu’s new friend - he’s only three weeks old and he’s gorgeous!

My 4yo boy Tofu went rescue dating after we lost Patches, as I didn’t want to neuter him unless it was a last resort, considering his health problems. The timing worked out well - the rescue had just taken in several pregnant females and there were a few baby boys coming up to separating age. Which means Ed was taken straight from his mum to bond with Tofu, no time alone or bouncing around different adults

Tofu went to the rescue on Saturday, bonding was done on Sunday and by all accounts went about as smoothly as it could have!

I’ve literally just got them home now, so I’m trying to let them be - Tofu is relaxed but Edamame is understandably a bit spooked. He had a zoom around the cage and then dove into a hay pile safely under the blanket

Here’s the pictures I’ve managed to get so far. I can’t believe the size difference! Never seen a piggie so young before and I am totally in love

They’ve been posing very cutely the last couple of days. Best of friends again, napping beside each other Tofu is on antibiotics again and they’ve perked him up a bit, which is nice

I’m glad Tofu is doing better. I have a soft spot for him as he’s a twin of my Phoebe, so I look at him and remember her.

I love seeing photos of Phoebe twin pigs are special

Tofu says thank you all for the well wishes he’s quite happy at the moment, which lets me calm down a little. He sits for critical care with all his usual dignity. I appreciate the extra cuddle time tbh - and Ed continues to zoom and do parkour until he gets a snack as well

The boys got a little bit of melon as a special treat tonight. Tofu loves it, it was Eddie’s first time having some and he immediately ran off with a chunk, so I’d say that’s a hit

The heterotropic bone growth in Tofu’s eye is a lot more obvious these days. It doesn’t really bother him, bar the sight loss, but I like to keep monitoring it. He doesn’t mind posing for the camera during syringe feeds. Today he let me hold him against my chest for a while, settled in for a nice cuddle… until he peed on my hand anyway




Ed got to meet one of my friends for the first time today. She won him over with pea flakes and he was zooming everywhere during board games lol. More parkour off the hideys!

Tofu is doing quite well, all things considered his weight is stable, he hasn’t lost any since the scans, and he likes his critical care. He’s just finishing up another course of antibiotics and he responded well. Lots of chasing Ed around the cage and cosy naps on his favourite tunnel (and cuddles for me, which is lovely, peeing on my hand or not!)

Ed is 870g now - almost proper guinea pig sized! He’s not scared of humans anymore either, chomps my fingers daily hoping for food he’s the boss pig now. Tofu doesn’t mind. The house is officially under Edamame’s rule

They’ve had no more bond concerns since the couple weeks when Eddie was taking over. Back to napping together and eating together - I think Tofu is a little bit grumpy, but not enough to try anything haha

Tofu agrees Edamame got started on the tunnel while Tofu took over the corner hidey (which I swapped with this morning’s because they pee on it so much! I didn’t think I needed to have zorb in the roof as well as the inside. Clearly an error!)
