Hello everyone, was wondering if I could get some advice and another oppinion on what you think is on my guinea pig Luna's eye it's in the top right corner of her eye. I was wondering if I would need to take her to the vet or not.
Thanks again

Hello James

On the eyelid? Could be a sty or a cyst possibly. Best get it checked out at the vets.

EDIT: CAN SEE THE LENS NOW - please see a vet as it looks ulcerated

Could you add your location to your profile as it helps us tailor any advice if ever needed to your geographical location

I'm not sure how to add my location to my profile but I live in Aberdeen Scotland if that helps

Also the spot is actually on her eye lens so under the eyelid

I would recommend a vets visits. Eyes are delicate and prone to injury

You have a recommended piggy vet in Aberdeen

zooming on your pic it looks like a little ulcer on the cornea, as if he scratched his eye with a piece of hay... there is also a little "swelling" spot on the same eyelid above. It might be a little injury with the hay... But I am not sure, of course. Maybe the vet will suggest you some antibiotics or some wash with boiled water and salt... when my piggie had a watery eye the vet suggested only a double dose of vit C and multiple lavages. It worked. But it is better to go to a vet always.

I couldn't zoom in @rome_italy nice one.

@James Taylor Please see the vet tomorrow as hay pokes need prompt treatment.
I saved the pic on my desktop and re- open it with my usual program for pics ;). it looks like an eye poke, but not sure of course... the fact that also the eyelid has a spot might suggest a hay poke...
The vet will give us the answer...

It looks like it could be a poke injury to the eye, maybe from a piece of hay. Definitely requires a vet assessment and treatment. Hope your piggie feels better soon!
