My guinea pigs nail was cut too short but we applied pressure, clotted with flour and he is fine and is eating well and the bleeding has long stopped but is it normal for him too now be sleeping?

Providing he hasn't lost a lot of blood, he should be fine to sleep as is natural. Is he showing any signs you find worrying? I'd watch out for anything nasty getting into the wound/nail though

It happens...

If the bleeding has stopped within 5-10 minutes, there is nothing to worry; if the bleeding continues, you want to see a vet. You may want to disinfect with hibiscrub or saline solution (either from the pharmacy or made at home by mixing 1 teaspoon of salt with 1/2 pint/250 ml of boiled, cooled water.

Your piggy is just recovering from the upset. ;)
