New update for Finley pig for anyone who is interested!

Hurrah! How exciting! I'm so, so pleased that today went well. Also, you put me to shame with the cake baking - Jenny only got a badly made coffee from me!

She really is! She has perfect timing, the pigs are like "ooooh what's this?!" and totally forget about the teeth chattering!

Ah don't be silly! My coffee was probably awful too, i never drink it so have no idea how to make it! :)) Fingers crossed it will continue to be good! I kind of want to get them all out again, it's so interesting watching them all interact! Dottie was an angel again, as always, she's such a relaxed piggy! x)

Lovely to meet Pigs and Humans today alike. I thought Finlay and the girls were lovely. I am hoping this will work, cross fingers.

The dustpan trick......and I use this with any bonding, I'm not saying its right or wrong but it works most of the time for me. If they start chattering teeth and start to rear up just very slowly put a dustpan inbetween them, its a distraction technique because I make sure they can still see each other. Also if I did need to seperate its much easier to use the dustpan than your hand and less likely to get bitten!

Cake was lovely, 2nd one had gone by the time I was on the M25! ooophs.

Lovely to meet you too Jenny - glad the cake went down well! I'm about to pop out now to make the most of the sun but i'll be doing some more bonding this afternoon once it cools down! Mabel and Dottie are currently tucking into some fresh hay and Fin is asleep in his house after falling asleep on my lap with lots of chin rubs x)

ps, you were awake at 4am this morning?! You are a super woman staying awake after such a busy day!
 
Update for tonights bonding session!

All went very well indeed! xx>>>

Much better compared to yesterday - only had to use the dust pan for distraction twice when there was some minimal teeth chattering! Yesterday Mabel would make very loud high pitched squealing sounds if Fin came too close, well tonight there was none of that. She was approaching him a lot more and she even let him sniff her bottom without protest! :p

Dottie was very interesting in Fin tonight, she tried to groom him a number of times but i think he is still a little anxious and often flinches when she comes near. There was a lot of bottom sniffing from him though and he tried to mount her at one point :x

They were all asleep in a line at one point but moved when i got the camera x) i manged to get a few snaps though and a little video to show Jenny and any one else who's interested of the progress that has been made this evening. They were together for well over an hour but they all got a tired and there was just a lot of sleeping so they are now back in their cages.

Very happy with the bonding tonight and will continue like this every evening!
Enjoy the video and pigtures, watching pig behaviour is just so interesting!

Thanks for the update and for posting the video, it is very similar behavior to Little Pig and Womble. But there is a lot of chirping going on, which seems positive to me.

Finley is hilarious in the video, I love it when long-haired pigs popcorn!

By the way, I've been too busy eyeing up your Finley-pig before to notice how gorgeous your girls are. I'm not sure which is which, but the one bar-nibbling is particularly lovely.

Finley did an insane amount of popcorning tonight! He was rolling over at one point?! I've never seen him do this! :))

Excuse Mabel shaking the bars at one point, i think she wanted out! :)) Oh and look out for the double chicken leg from Dottie very briefly! x)

Since putting them back in their cages Finley has been running laps around and around, i think he thoroughly enjoyed his time with the girls tonight! :)

I'm so glad they seem to be getting along, fingers crossed for you as they make a lovely group and the girlies need a man in there life :(|) cant wait for the updates.

Oooh that's good to hear! I think we are both going along the right lines, it will just take a bit of time but i have plenty! The boys are chirping?! Wow! There seems to be mixed opinions about whether it means they are happy or sad/stressed, i've never heard my piggies do it but i've watched videos on you tube and it is an amazing sound!

Fin is so funny when he popcorns! He got Jenny laughing at him yesterday, he crashed into the bars at one point tonight :)) i was worried he might popcorn and land on Mabel and totally freak her out but he managed to miss her - just!

Aww, the one bar nibbling is Mabel! The naughty piggy! She is very beautiful x) Dottie is the agouti and has bags of confidence! She is famous for her chicken legs on the forum and has many fans :))

Glad it's still going well with the boys!

I loved the video - esp when it got stuck buffering and gave me a mid air snap shot! I do love your piggies! They are each gorgeous and have their own pigsonalities! I do love Mabel's expressions and her lovely coat!

Misty is utterly relieved (though is hoping Harvey is not reading this!). She sends shy wheeks to Finley x

Thank you! I hope it all works out, it has been a bit of a roller coaster so far! We still have a long way to go but things are definitely improving and as Jenny would say the bonding percentage of it working out is getting higher! xx>>> The girls definitely need a Finley in their lives! I don't know how Mabel could have resisted him! drool
 
Sorry, chirping is the wrong word to have used. I have never heard a piggy do the bird-song type chirping... I mean the little chirps pigs make when they are pottering around - your piggies all seem to be doing it in the video - anyone got the right word to describe this sound?

Was thinking earlier how apt your username is for your trio - I keep reading it as a 3 at the end rather than a heart (I skim too fast, sorry!). However, it now fits, and what a lovely trio you have! x

I never realised it was meant to be a love heart either, I always assumed it was a 3!

Haha, someone else said that once when we had the thread about user names! I do wish i had thought of something a bit more creative! mallethead I'll be honest, when i joined i didn't think i'd be quite as involved in the forum as i have become! I don't think i'll ever be able to leave it, i hate it even when i can't make it on here for one evening! :x:))

The video was fantastic, I love the popcorning with hair everywhere, he is such a cutie, Mabel shaking the bars made me giggle...

Awww, I really enjoyed hearing the updates and watching the video....

Well done all involved - once they have sorted the dynamics of the group out I'm sure you'll have a very happy Trio x)
