Had a weigh in this morning, Ozzy at 725, so he hasn't gained or lost anything. Is this a sign to feed him a little more or just keep doing the same to maintain him and allow him to make the progress? He started off at around 900g before being poorly

How’s he doing in himself? Is he managing to eat plenty of hay now? I’d really like to be able to offer you some definite advice, as I understand what’s it’s like when you’re not sure what to do. Hugs x

Hes eating quite a bit of hay but not quite enough it feels, he seems to be a bit better in himself x

I’d keep doing the amounts you are doing for a few more days and then lower it a bit. His weight just has to be a stable for a while and then he will slowly put it back on. Maybe not all of it. It took my Pepper 🌈 about 6 months to regain his weight after his abscess.

You can offer him as much as he willing to take but his body will put on weight when it is ready; after a serious illness that may take some weeks or even months, or in the elderly may never happen. Your first priority is always to stabilise the weight and to create a solid basis for the healing/recovering process to happen in its own time.

It is at this stage that we owners would like to push the pedal down and speed up but nature has usually other ideas.

Found a bit of squishy poo that he'd done that panicked me for a second, there was literally only one though so I think we're still ok, wasnt diarrhea either which is a lot less worrying. Should I stop syringe feeding him if he has squishy poop(s?)?

No don’t stop syringing for squishy poops.
Remove veg if squishy poops becomes a persistent issue; but if there is only one then I really wouldn’t worry or try to change anything at this point

Thank you lovely, sorry, every single thing sends me into alarm mode right now

If there's only one squishy poop he could have weed on it. You are both doing so well.
Was hoping that's the case but he had more sludgy ones coming out, however seems to have cleared up. Thank you so much, hes back in the hay like normal now :) just topping him up in the morning and evening, hope he carries on like this, so proud of my little moo x

They're such brave, resilient creatures, aren't they?
Yet they have no idea. They just look at you like "yeah I'm feeling better now, why are you looking at me weird?" 😂
They really are! I do keep getting the side eye from Ozzy, he can't understand why I still fuss :)

There’s a technical problem with attaching photos. If you use the attach files button they are sideways. If you use the three dots next to the link icon you can drop pictures in that way. Hope that makes sense.

Ozzy has gone down to 706, while I'm trying to tell my partner that he needs more feeds, partner is insisting that feeding him is why hes eating less since he "seems to lose it in the night". Am I in the wrong to add more feeds? Ozzy is also enjoying hay and constantly eating it now x

No you are not wrong. You ned to feed him supplement food, as much as he needs to maintain weight. The daily weigh in will tell you whether you are feeding enough or not.
