Pebble is off to the vets

Sorry for the late reply. Hectic day 😊

He put on 38g ! overnight. 🎉

He’s looking very perky. Starting to beg at the bars and acting absolutely starving. Which we all know is the usual state of piggies.

He’s back on the grass. But I don’t want to overload their tummies.

I’ve seen him eating hay. Not with his usual gusto but it’s a win.

And he’s back enjoying the Critical Care. Which is good because I have a big pouch of it.

I’m happy 😊
This is amazing news, well done to you both 💖💖 I can only imagine how tired you must be, I hope he continues to improve 🤗🤗

all I can tell you that if I don’t take it I literally feel the physical change. Don’t get me wrong I work hard to stay active, engaged in hobbies, yoga etc, eat well as well but it really was a game changer.
I will get a supply. I think I'd be fine if I could just semi hibernate, but it wouldn't pay the bills. I think light therapy could be good. I want to see what is involved there 🌅

I have terrible SAD but from first October I take high dose vitamin D as recommended by a doctor and usually stop April time. I literally feel myself slipping and get on the Vit D. It’s worked absolute wonders for me. Please seek advice before going down this route as this is only my experience and not a recommendation.
Thanks for that. I’ll look into to it. 👍🏻

Oh hurrah hurrah hurrah - I think this should give comfort to others that it does take time after dental to get the urge for hay but keeping faith it comes. So so relieved and delighted.
Yes I had heard it can take weeks for them to get their confidence back but when you’re “in the process” it’s so frustrating when they can eat everything else but not hay.

Is he eating a bit on his own?
Yes. He’s definitely eating hay but not as much as he should. I’m giving him grass, veggies, peas and nuggets twice a day. Which he is polishing off quickly. And two feeds a day morning and evening. He put on weight today. So I’m really happy. 😃

Lovely to see that Pebble is improving. Hopefully he will continue to do well.xx

How's Pebble doing. Is he eating more hay?
Hello. Yes he is. Not with full gusto yet but he’s doing really well.

We have a routine that he gets weighed first thing and put into the carrier so he can get his meds, veggies, a few peas and some nuggets. Then I pop him back into his cage with Patrick and they have hay together. Mid morning he has a syringe of EmerAid and some grass. Then he has the same in the evening.

I’ve reduced his meds to arthrocam morning and evening and only one lot of paracetamol.

This morning he had gained 22g and yesterday it was 14g. I will reduce the peas and nuggets once I’m sure he’s eating more hay. ❤️
