Just as we where getting used to Fudge doing so well, tonight I have discovered some enlarged lymph nodes :-( one each in her groin and back leg, both large pea sized, the rest I can feel but are smaller (have no idea if it's normal to feel them at all).

Being the neurotic owner that I am, I put fudge back to bed then had a bit of a melt down.. I am dreading this being something nasty.

The best case scenario is some form of infection, which she isn't showing any outward sign of. I checked her urine and it is positive for blood and leukocytes, so I'm praying the lymph nodes are just affected by a UTI, but I may be being too optimistic there.

She is happy and still holding her prime weight of 1050-1070g, great appetite and active. Trying to focus on this.

She was signed off by the vet until after the new year, I guess I was silly to think we'd manage 4 weeks without a vet visit. The longest has been 3 weeks since her diagnosis.

Being in heart failure, tests are extremely limited as she can't be sedated or anaesthetised. She also can't have bloods taken consciously as she has a severe dislike for anyone touching her chin and neck so gets far too stressed. Fudges options are "trying and waiting for a result", which I struggle with.

Please send all your good luck vibes this way.. She has fought for over a year with a terminal diagnosis and is still very much the same old fudge she always was.

It's going to be a long wait for tomorrow's appointment :soz:

Thanks everyone. Just keep thinking that this isn't one of those things that "could be nothing" .. It's something; and trying to find out what that something is will be extremely difficult with her heart failure.

The dreaded lymphoma is at the forefront of my mind... I just feel sick.

Oh no Adelle

Poor you and the fab Fudge!

Paws from all four of my piggies and my fingers are crossed in hope that it is nothing serious.

Hope it all goes well for Fudge

As suspected, the vet can't say for sure what this is. The fact the glands are only up on one side isn't typical for the likely health issues. She has been given 2 weeks of antibiotics for the UTI in the hope the glands are just up due to infection.

If they don't go down she suggested fine needle aspirates of the 2 bigger glands to see what we are dealing with. This will have to be done consciously in fudge but she knows how tolerant she is and doesn't think they'd have a problem doing it.

So as expected, we now wait.

This is the worst part :-(

Millions and millions of good luck vibes for the lovely Fudge. Lots of relaxed waiting vibes to you.
