Just as we where getting used to Fudge doing so well, tonight I have discovered some enlarged lymph nodes :-( one each in her groin and back leg, both large pea sized, the rest I can feel but are smaller (have no idea if it's normal to feel them at all).
Being the neurotic owner that I am, I put fudge back to bed then had a bit of a melt down.. I am dreading this being something nasty.
The best case scenario is some form of infection, which she isn't showing any outward sign of. I checked her urine and it is positive for blood and leukocytes, so I'm praying the lymph nodes are just affected by a UTI, but I may be being too optimistic there.
She is happy and still holding her prime weight of 1050-1070g, great appetite and active. Trying to focus on this.
She was signed off by the vet until after the new year, I guess I was silly to think we'd manage 4 weeks without a vet visit. The longest has been 3 weeks since her diagnosis.
Being in heart failure, tests are extremely limited as she can't be sedated or anaesthetised. She also can't have bloods taken consciously as she has a severe dislike for anyone touching her chin and neck so gets far too stressed. Fudges options are "trying and waiting for a result", which I struggle with.
Please send all your good luck vibes this way.. She has fought for over a year with a terminal diagnosis and is still very much the same old fudge she always was.
It's going to be a long wait for tomorrow's appointment
