The breeder had rabbits as well. I saw her posting them for sale....

Holy frijole... What if this is bordetella?
 
I am not too sure on how it is taken but I think they have to be off antibiotics for a period first before it is done. I could be wrong though.

My understanding is that it is devistaing and quick so she wouldn’t have improved and would have died by now. But call your vet and ask.

I just tried, she's not in today.

I think maybe I am just scaring myself. She is dramatically improved. She was really energetic and playful this morning. So I think I am just spooking myself.

Okay. the fungus tbh is pretty much a given. it's all on her nose now. Very obvious tell tale scurfs of skin and cracking. And it'd improved this morning a bit after I really got in there last night with the hibiscrub and F10 on a cotton bud. She did not like that!

Another 27 hours till the vets... Still having kittens about the itrafungol. Someone really put the wind up me with that on Guinea Lynx yesterday...
 
Am sorry someone on there scared you. The dose will be adjusted though for her weight. Mine never had any issues, the only difference was they were on Itrafungol and not Sporanox.

Tbh the poster in question is often quite direct. I probably should take it with a pinch of salt..

I trust you Helen. You've used it extensively. I'm going to take your word over theirs I think...

We will be starting it tomorrow so I will be able to watch her like a hawk over the weekend for any digestive upset. TBh I have to do something. Or it's just going to spread and spread. And if the URI is rooting in fungus issues, then this could be the magic wand...

I will when I'm there tomorrow. At the moment we've been giving her pro-c and a little Critical Care/Emeraid to get it into her, and her poops are currently totally normal. but I will ask for some fibreplex tomorrow for extra support, it's wonderful stuff. Only used it once, but it put paid to a case of bloat I'd been battling for weeks. Thanks for the idea *hugs*
 
Interesting development with Ceridwen. Her nose is less sore this evening thanks to a couple of good cleaning and creams over the last 24 hours... And now her sneezing has -dramatically- reduced.

I'm now thinking the OH is right and her nose is irritated by the fungus sore. She is startlingly improved. She's sneezing maybe two or three times an hour.
 
Aaand I now know what type of fungus Ceri has; it's Ringworm. How do I know it's Ringworm? Because now I have it.
 
Finally home from the vets. Damned public transport!

We now have our nebuliser and pre mixed f10 solution in a drip bag XD I have to draw it out with a needle, it makes me feel weird! Even though I know I am going nowhere near any animal with such a thing, it's still an odd thing to have in my house.

She also took one look at the ring on my shoulder and was all "Yep, 3 weeks course of Sporanox." So that's being added into the meds round from this evening. Annoyingly they were out of fibreplex so going to have to order that off Amazon. She's going to be on 0.18ml once per day of the itraconazole.

Ceri decided to have a little sneezing session in the office to make a liar out of me and handily had a booger in her nose, so we've taken a swab and sent that to be tested, results should be back by next Friday. Celine explained it would be biased due to the antibiotics she's already on, but it will be useful to show up any potentially resistant strains. So we're just double checking basically. Continuing on the sulfatrim until Friday at least. It'll have been 3 weeks at that point.

Also been given a huge bottle of Malaseb and we need to start bathing 2 a week for 3 weeks. I wanted to ask, should i patch test this for 48 hours, just to be on the safe side?

Gah.... So stressed. Ceri isn't, she slept most of the journey, and is now popcorning and stuffing her face. Giving her an hour to just settle after the long afternoon and stress of the vet visit, then settle in with the nebuliser.

So, it's F10, antibiotics, malaseb and itraconazole for Ceri, it's Daktarin and Nizarol for me, and it's at least 5 weeks more quarantine for us both!
 
Oh dear that sounds stressful. Did you get any of the undiluted f10 as well (it kills ringworm so will be good for disinfecting the cage and your house).

I found fibreplex was cheaper on vet uk than amazon but they took an age to deliver (could be where we are). Hyperdrug delivered emeraid next day, I'm. It sure if they have fibreplex.

Aaah poopernickels, i didn't realise Hyperdrug did next day >.< For some reason I thought they delivered through Royal Mail. Got this tube of Amazon so it'll be here in the morning but i'll make sure I stock up moving forwards from Hyperdrug.

I didn't unfortunately, the vet bill was so high I couldn't afford more than medications for Ceri. I've been cleaning with boiling water, dettol and vinegar mix. (My hands are -raw-).

Btw, when you used the nebuliser, did you find Ziggy sneezed more after for a little while?
 
Yes patch test the malaseb for 48 hours. If you can get the f10 for cage cleaning too it would be good as it is the best for Ringworm. They sell it on Amazon I think.

Bless little Ceri. Sounds a like a very productive vet visit.
 
Okey dokey, now ordered the concentrated F10 as well. I wanted to ask, can I add a capful of this to my washing machine when doing a load? I'm washing on 60+ degrees but figured adding a little of the disinfectant might be worth doing?

Ceri is doing well. Her sneezing is still slowed down, she goes maybe a couple of hours without one, then a burst of three or four every so often. Cannot wait to bathe her though, I keep finding more patches of scabbing from the ringworm :( Did the patch test last night of the Malaseb (I honestly forgot Saturday night on top of everything else...) No sign of a reaction so far.

Also, her stomach seems to be doing very well on the itraconazole so far. Poops and appetite are both still good and she's still very bright.

She's grown, too, you can tell just by looking at her. Which is lovely to see :)

I am so sorry but it is against the rules of the forum, if we allow it for one then we have to allow it for all and then it snowballs. Really sorry.
