Hello! I was having a look at my boy Olive's feet earlier, and I noticed that his two front paws look a little swollen and redder than usual. He's overweight and I worry that he may have contracted bumblefoot. His feet have always looked a little larger and red, but the increase of spurs and added red-ish color seem new. He's still very active, running around and nibbling on hay with his brother. I trimmed his nails and deep cleaned their enclosure when I noticed this. A month ago at the vet he was alright.

I'm just wondering if this is bumblefoot and if it is urgent or not.

I don't see anything looking like bumblefoot. But if you're worried, make extra sure to keep the bedding dry and use soft bedding.
Also check his paws regularly. Overweight piggies have a higher risk of developing bumblefoot.
All the best for your lovely boy!

Thank you! I'll make sure to keep a good eye on his paws for any development.

Looks fine to me! Good job keeping an eye on things, it's always good to be aware and try to catch problems early.

Hi

This looks rather like the beginnings of a harmless and very common foot spur; a growth of dead skin, which is best left alone.

Bumblefoot infections generally happen on the pads where germs can get into the skin through tiny cracks whereas spurs grow on the sides of the pads. ;)
