I find the whole story heartbreaking. All this sadness due to greedy backyard breeders and thoughtless pet shops.💔

Oh no, this sounds all too familiar to me... This happened to my beautiful bunny Bella it turned out to be a parasite the majority of rabbits get (so I don't think this will be what your piggy has, that is unless you have rabbits it can be passed on to guinea pigs) I hope your piggy is okay. You could maybe Google the symptoms of E. CuniCuli (I think that's what it's called)

Hi Sophie Blane, I'm sorry but Peanut had to be put to sleep on monday, afraid its quite along story but it wasnt because of the problem you mentioned.
It all strarted in this thread https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/threads/pregnant-guinea-pig-help.162845/

Hi again.
been awhile since i last posted on here but needed some quick advice please.
as you know we had to have peanut put to sleep last year after all of her complications.
i am currently in the process of going through the small claims court to try to recover some of the vets costs which were over £700.
What i need to know is does anyone know what the process will be?
When i originally sent the forms through to the courts the pet shop replied that they wanted to try the free mediation service offered by the courts. i was a little annoyed by this as i had asked them several times to try this and they refused.
Anyway i agreed to the mediation and had a date for it to take place. Last night i received an email saying

Good Morning,

We have decided that mediation is not a route that we would like to take, please can you stop the mediation process.

Kindest regards

Hi!

Could you please start a new thread in one of the Chat sections, so it has a better chance of being seen by member with legal expertise.

I am very sorry, but I can't help you on this. I can only be sorry for all the extra stress and emotional upheaval for you!

Hi @malcassy , I have a couple of contacts with knowledge of Small Claims court procedure. If you start a thread in the General Chat forum as suggested by wiebke and tag me in, I'll do my best to get answers on specific questions on procedure (but not on the details of your claim).

Hi @malcassy I've worked as a specialist debt advisor before (still work at the same company so awareness of debt processes but a tad rusty). The judge will not be happy at the company refusing mediation as both sides are expected to do everything they can to prevent it going through court. If you feel I may be able to help advise in anyway then do let me know
