Hi all! I've had my piggies for a week now, and I've weighed them all. I'm not sure if they're at a healthy weight for their age as none of them are adults yet, so I thought I'd come on here to ask more experienced piggy owners for their opinion.

My youngest boy, Jeremy, is 7 weeks now. He weighs 366 grams.
My second, Tom, is 11 weeks now. He weighs 477 grams.
My third, Ben, is 17 weeks now. He weighs 610 grams.
And my oldest, Baby, is 6 months now. He weighs 896 grams.

Jeremy and Baby are cagemates (picture 1, longer haired piggies), and Tom and Ben are cagemates (picture 2, short haired piggies).

They are lovely!

There is no thing as weight for age. Given they are young, as long as they are gaining weight each week (meaning they are eating enough) then that is fine.

Given they would all have had different birth weight, those differences carry on through life, they will all get to their genetically determined adult weight in their own time. They will stabilise as they age and then maintain their weight each week.

To know whether they are a good size for themselves, you don’t do by weight. Weight just tells you they are eating enough to grow or stay stable. You check their heft to know whether an adult piggy is a good size for themselves.

I’ve added a guide below which explains more
