Pus ball coming out of my female guinea pig vagina

Been seen today they think it’s just a Seroma

So we are icing and giving all pain relief and antibiotics she is also in a small cage

However I have now brought her home and caught her pulling out a stitch the stitch is now hanging off ! 😔

Now has a sock on her probably another vet trip tomorrow ! 😫

She keeps trying to go for it so on hold now to emergency vet to try and get some sort of cone …not sure if they even do that for small animals ?

This has been such and awful experience

Have you got painkillers because this kind of self-harming is from some major discomfort?

A fluid build up under the skin is not uncommon but we cannot comment and any wild guesses are likely to only increase your stress rather than ease it. I am so very sorry that you are having such a rough ride with it.

Please forget about head cones. They last a full 10 minutes with guinea pigs - if you are very lucky. Never longer.

Firm bandaging is the only alternative.
 
I have now put a plaster on it scared to sleep as she’s getting her foot caught in the sock now.

Was going to try and call another emergency vet as they have no cones st my emergency vet should I not bother ?

Don't bother getting hold of a cone. I have yet to hear of a piggy where any homemade cone has worked. They can far too easily twist and slip out of them!

A firm (but not so firm that it is cutting into the body and is preventing movement) bandage around her body is unfortunately the only alternative that has a chance of staying on. Sorry about banging on but we have ample experience in that respect. @eileen

Thank you no emergency vet’s near me had a cone or bodysuit anyway.

Seems like the cone would cause more stress anyway like you say. I am going to the vet again today to see what they can offer me.

I will request more or an increase pain relief as you say she is obviously not happy if she is actively gnawing on it !

Luckily during the night she didn’t get stuck in the sock and hasnt managed to remove the sock or plaster. An hour alarm throughout did the trick 😴

I will definitely updating my first aid kit I have 4 piggies and refuse to go through anything like this again
 
One of my past pigs had both ovaries removed due to cysts. She had stitches in but as the wounds (she had one each side) started to heal they must have itched and she rubbed all her stitches out on the side of the Piggy Palace. So I took her back and they glued the wounds closed again. Two days later she'd rubbed the glue off also. I was slightly despairing at that point!
She did heal up beautifully in the end, despite trying to sabotage her own skin.

Thank you pleased in a way this is not uncommon then ! I’m waiting now to be seen so hopefully more glue and I will keep going with the body suit/sock !
