Thanks everyone for all of your help, but sadly Muffin was put to sleep at lunchtime today, Kim felt that no matter what invasive tests we could have done it was clear that is was something terminal and Muffin was very close to the end anyway. A very sad day for us, but at least we know she isn't suffering. Debbie i can't thank you enough for everything you have done (and for the hug). My daughter is devastated but is very much looking forward to finding a new cage mate for a very lonely Smudge. What an astonishingly brilliant vets practice, couldn't be more impressed. Thank you so much all, for making Muffin's last days as best they could have been and helping me to get to the right decision with some peace.
Ps when Muffin's ashes are returned to the practice I may reach out for help to get them back to us, if anyone is passing Maidenhead on their pig loving travels!
