2 of my guinea pigs seem to just have a reoccurring case of ringworm. Overall, to get them sorted I've payed £400. They seem to have been free of it since Jan, but I think it may have come back.
I really don't think it's anything I'm doing as I clean them out regularly, everything is disinfected and cleaned, and I kept nothing from when they had it originally.
I'm unsure about whether or not I should change vets to see if I would get any different advice? Any one else had much experience of this?

Thank you!

It may be an idea to get a second opinion,I've never heard of it recurring. I wonder if there not quite giving,
Enough meds to totalling get rid of it.

It can reoccur as the spores can be difficult to get rid of. Can I ask what treatment was used when they had it before? What makes you think it has come back?

It's was an oral antimedication, and they were treated for it twice with two week courses. I had them tested as well which came back positive for ringworm, and then they appeared hair loss and dry skin a few days ago, as well as itching quite a bit.

I strongly suspect the course wasn't long enough. When Mabel had fungal she had a second course of oral anti-fungal treatment that lasted 5 - 6 weeks in total after it came back after conclusion of the first course. . It sounds like the treatment is being stoped a bit too soon. Please ask your vet to prescribe a longer course of treatment (with regular reviews).
